Pet care experience
Dogs have always been the thing that make me happiest. I’ve been passionate about dogs since an early age, and there’s no better job in the world than one you’re passionate doing! Taking care of dogs is no easy task, but it’s a job I feel strongly about. I’m up for any task big or small when it comes to these canine cuties, as long as I get to see them wag their tail in delight. I grew up with seven dogs, most of them rescue. They ranged in size from small to medium to large, which means I have experience with all types of dogs and personalities. Your pup will be in good hands with me no matter what! I have also been working as a professional pet care provider for a few years, which has included dog walking, conducting home visits, providing medication for sick dogs, and boarding. I currently do not have any pets of my own (although I hope to have some in the future), which means your pooch will have my undivided attention. Like any relationship, communication is key. It is important that all of the canine’s needs and wants are clearly understood by me and that I ask you all the right questions before I begin caring for your best friend. A dog’s health and safety is paramount, and I want to make sure that you feel secure that your pup is being well taken care of. I am happy to provide as many updates as you see fit during our time together and make sure the canine is my top priority the whole time. I love to have fun with dogs, but I also take this job very seriously. No task is too big or small for me when it comes to dogs, and I will always go the extra mile to ensure you are satisfied with my service. I am open to all dogs and respectful to their needs. Some need more time to get acquainted with me, others will be fast friends. I am cognizant of that and will be patient with each situation. During a meet and greet, I will adapt to what the dog needs to feel comfortable. Just like meeting a human friend, we’ll start with pleasantries and I’ll learn their boundaries. I’ll allow the dog room to explore me and feel at home before I pet them or smother them with kisses. We have a great view of the New York skyline right out of my apartment. Across the street is a HUGE park with lots of room to run and spot a chipmunk. And a little further away is the West New York Dog Park, but that’s only if you’re okay with other dogs.
Reviews
Peter was a very gracious and accommodating sitter. He was very friendly and our dog took a liking to him right away. He kept us up to date every couple hours with photos and videos of Jet having a great time. We highly recommend Peter to anyone looking for a sitter. Great job again.
Peter was awesome. When our normal walker was not available he jumped right in and there was no difference. He asked all the questions he needed to make sure our puppy was getting the right kind of service. Greatly appreciated his attention to detail.
Peter has dogsat, walked, and cared for my dog Gunther on multiple occasions. When my 7-month-old french bulldog puppy went through a huge surgery and required several complicated medications, was stitched up and on crate rest, and I was in a bind -- he came to the rescue and watched him diligently and communicatively. I wouldn't have trusted anyone else in my life with this complicated, scary ask! He's a dependable, reliable, sharp person that is caring and thoughtful when it comes to pets. I couldn't recommend him more.
Peter takes excellent care of our 2 dachshunds! He makes sure they are safe when walking and monitors them when they eat since they can be picky. He is always kind and gentle when handling them.

Information Peter M. would like to know about your pet
Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?
A typical day
First thing’s first: morning kisses! Every morning should start off positive and filled with love. Your pooch will probably have to tinkle, so we’ll go right away to our morning walk, which has a beautiful view of the New York skyline. After doing our “business” and stretching our legs a bit, back home for some chow time. Breakfast is the most important meal, so it’s important we start our day right. After breakfast, it’s time for a little tug-of-war fun before I have to go to work (which is just in the other room). Your pup will be in their open play area with all of their favorite toys, and I’ll always check on them throughout the day. Around noon, it’ll be time for snacks and some play time in the park where we’ll get plenty of exercise playing fetch and chasing squirrels. Afterwards, I’m back to working for a couple of hours until dinner. I’ll make dinner for us around 6:00 and have another quick round of tug of war. We’ll have one more walk before bedtime to make sure we’re ready to hit the hay. As we get ready for bed, I make sure your pup gets some goodnight kisses and a nice belly rub to help them fall asleep. In my free time, I like taking walks and hanging out in the park to read, so there should be no problem with your pup accompanying me. Sometimes I’ll take a drive to my parents’ house a few minutes away where they have a big backyard and two lovable Dachshunds. They’re very friendly and always love making new friends.
