I have two dogs. I love them to pieces, but they bark at absolutely everyone and everything. They keep it up for a while with strangers, especially. But when I first had Peter over to meet them, there was hardly a single woof. Peter has a kind of rapport with dogs that I can't quite explain, but he and my dogs were friends at first sight. During another visit, he came along with me to take the dogs for a walk and they've never been more well-behaved. Whatever it is about Peter, he makes dogs feel comfortable, and I think that's extremely important in a dog caregiver. He paid my dogs plenty of extra attention while I was away at college, and I know he would do the same for any and every other dog he meets.
