Home Is Where The Paws Are🐾

Pet care experience

To my Regulars and New Clients, Harley, Chloe and I would like to express our sincerest gratitude for your unwavering support during these difficult times. We miss you all and we're excited to meet the newest members of your family - human, canine, & feline 💛 Hello there! My name is Perla and I'm here to provide your furry child(ren) with the best care possible so they may unwind, enjoy themselves, and have a grand time in my home with my family and my babygirls! As a child growing up in a home where animals are more than just pets - they are family - including them in my work life was and continues to be my top priority! I remember always lending a helping hand in caring for my uncle's 3 dogs, cockatoos, and hamsters! Even though I no longer care for such small animals, I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to do so again because they have a special place in my heart! I always strive to provide a safe, loving, and enjoyable stay for every single one of my furry clients, so I'd love to have the chance to look after and adore your furry child(ren) while you're on vacation or simply away at work! Your dog(s) and cat(s) will receive more love and care than they could ever ask for. We can take extended group strolls (or solo walks if your dog(s) prefers that), play with a variety of toys, complete any of the interactive puzzles I have on hand, socialize with my dogs and any guest dogs, visit one of the nearby parks (15 or 20 minute walks, if allowed and of course only if your dog(s) is comfortable with it!), or simply hang out and get all the cuddles and belly rubs they desire! If your dog(s) enjoys or is accustomed to being around youngsters, we can organize some play dates because niece’s and nephew’s love meeting our new friends! Your dog(s) are invited to take a nap in any of my plush dog beds, on the couch, in one of our beds, or anywhere else they feel most at ease. For the hotter days and in particular for the dogs who enjoy sleeping on cold surfaces due to their fur, I also have cooling mats available. Following any schedule and routine is easy because my schedule is fully focused on them and my guest dogs. So if theres are any specific routine you'd like to have kept for your dog(s) or cat(s) while they’re in my care, please don't hesitate to let me know! Harley and Chloe are my entire world so I'd want their potential sitter to love them, respect them, and basically treat them like a member of their family. That way, you can always have confidence and peace of mind knowing that your furry child(ren) will be loved and cherished as a member of our family. We hope to include your furry child(ren) to our extended family 💛

We left our 1yr old blue nose pittie for the first time with Perla for two weeks when we went to get married and she was amazing. We had never left him with anyone before and she made use feel so comfortable and secure, we knew from the beginning he was safe with her. He had so much fun, she was so interactive with him, and she is so intuitive when it comes to dogs. We will absolutely be boarding with her again, Perla is amazing!

This was our first time boarding our fur babies. We were super apprehensive but Perla was wonderful and kept us updated on how they were doing. We hope that Perla can take care of them in the future.

Safety, trust & environment

For the safety of my babygirls and my clients babies, I do ask that your dog(s) and cat(s) be current on flea medication and their vaccinations, now including Leptospirosis (with the exception of some dog breeds and dogs with documented health conditions who are more likely to have negative reactions due to the vaccine's specialized nature) and Canine influenza vaccines. Another exception are puppies/kittens who have at least had their second series of shots—they'll be accepted no early than seven days after receiving their second batch of vaccinations. Please let me know if your dog(s) are currently on any heartworm prevention especially for those that join us on our park walks and hikes. Unfortunately, I will not be giving any tours of my home since I want to keep both my dogs and my home secure. I sincerely hope to get the chance to look after your furry child(ren) and provide them with the most enjoyable, adoring, and relaxing experience possible while in my care or with my babygirls, my family, and myself 💛

Information Perla C. would like to know about your pet

THINGS I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR DOG •Are they fixed? If not, do they show any dominant behaviors toward either/both, male or female dogs? •Any problem behaviors or preferences when meeting new dogs? •Do they have a dog preference? Energetic dogs or calm dogs? •What is their play style? Chasers, wrestlers, tuggers? •Do they give “corrections”? Occasionally or frequently? If so are there any specific instances you can recall. •Are they friendly with people? Or do they have a preference? •Do they have separation anxiety? If yes, how often and when do they exhibit said separation anxiety? For dogs from the same home, do they have separation anxiety when separated? •Are they aggressive towards dogs based on size? Male or female dogs? •Are they escape artists? •Are they territorial over food, treats, toys, people? •Anything that scares them, makes them anxious, or uncomfortable? • Are there any health conditions I should be aware of (such as arthritis, allergies, injuries with long-lasting effects, etc.)? • Do they take any medications? If yes, what is their medication schedule? Are there any negative side effects to be on the lookout for? • Is your dog microchipped? • Are their vaccines and flea preventatives up to date? • Are the care instructions provided on Rover.com up to date? • Who is your preferred vet? For dogs with constant health issues (ex. epilepsy, heart murmurs etc.) who is your emergency vet? • Who should be contacted in an emergency if you cannot be reached? DOG WALKING •Are they reactive to dogs, skateboards, bicycles or people? •Are they sensitive to loud noises? •Any leash aggression? •Any other behaviors, reactivity, I should be aware of before walking your dog(s)? •If you have preferences on their walking - in heel, right side vs left side, loose leash - please let me know before the walk. •Where they are permitted or prohibited to go potty? (I know some owners prefer their dogs to not go potty on the front patios or front yard of their apartments) INTACT DOGS • I do not host any females while in heat. • If your intact male dog has dominant but not aggressive behaviors please provide thorough information of instances where he was dominant so I can be prepared and know what to watch out for. • If your intact male dog does in fact have dominant AND aggressive behavior towards another intact dog, they will not be hosted if I have another intact male dog present. • If your intact female dog has dominant but not aggressive behaviors please provide thorough information of instances where she was dominant so I can be prepared and know what to watch out for. •If your intact female dog has dominant AND aggressive behavior towards an intact female dog, they will not be hosted while I have another intact female dog present. It’s rare for this to occur with intact females but can still be a possibility mostly when they near their “heat” cycles. No breed preference, BIG or SMALL we love them all! We welcome any and all dogs who are dog friendly into our pack :)

A typical day

Before caring for your furry child(ren), I would love to learn more about their personalities, any particular needs they may have, and their regular daily routine. If you would like me to carefully follow any directions, please let me know before your dog arrives. Whether your dog is staying with me for boarding or daycare, they will take frequent walks, trips to some of our favorite parks (if allowed), and occasionally (depending on your dog's strength and energy) to nearby hikes or long group walks with other dogs who share their interests! They will also have tons of fun playing with any other dogs I may have around, including my dog Harley and occasionally Chloe! Additionally, I can provide them with a ton of brain-stimulating interactive toys and puzzles that they may complete while enjoying snacks or meals. We also enjoy practicing tricks, so if there are any in particular that you might be practicing at home or in general, please let me know! If your dog is elderly or not very active, we can just hang out at home and relax while cuddling, getting belly rubs, and playing with toys. I will do my best to find games and activities that your dog(s) will love so they can have a ton of fun while they're with me. Please let me know if your dog's birthday is on a day we're together, please let me know so we can indulge and spoil them on their big day because we LOVE to celebrate their birthdays ?
