I’m Payton and I love dogs! They are loyal, joyous, and so sweet! I adore getting to know every dog out there! Growing up, I got to experience all types of animals! From cats to rabbits to geckos, I love them all! I love how every animal has its own special personality and unique ways you can connect with them. I would be happy to care for any animal on Rover. In addition to my experience with a variety of breeds, I’m also comfortable caring for dogs that need a little extra attention. If your dog has a medical issue or behavioral tendency, I can be there to provide that specialized care, keeping them safe, healthy, and happy in your absence. With my history as a veterinary/surgical assistant, I don't mind administering medications and injectable medications aren't a problem either! I’ve been involved in the animal welfare industry for about seven years. I’ve worked in many different positions in animal shelters and have learned a lot about animals, especially how to care for them, handle, and enrich their lives. While working in shelters, I would always be involved in training and behavior modification of residents, which has allowed me to provide that service to dogs I watch on Rover! In addition to my professional experience caring for dogs, I have also been a dog mom and have fostered countless pups. In my personal life, and as I pet sit, I try to stay very organized and conscientious. I pay attention to all care instructions, keep your home spotless when I stay there, and treat every animal in my care the way I would if they were my own. My passion for animals runs deep and I’m so lucky to be able to work with so many different furry friends. I find any encounter with them a rewarding experience! In my free time I like to do a lot of things, especially staying active! When I'm not with friends or in the pottery studio, I love to get out and explore Virginia! Hitting the trails is always fun, but it's even better with a furry companion! I'll take any excuse to get outside rain or shine!
