I’ll help your babies feel at home

Pet care experience

My whole life I have had a deep inclination to care for cats and dogs. I was the kid who wanted to bring in all the strays. I also grew up volunteering at my local animal shelter back in Santa Cruz California. A few years ago, for about two years, I was a part time dog walker as well as a cat/dog sitter. I primarily took care of three repeating clients/ two dogs and cat. Up until now, I’ve been a full time nanny. I’m in between jobs, so I have a little more time on my hands to focus on dog/cat sitting again. I am currently a cat mom and have been for the last six years. I have a two year old male cat, Jacques and just a few weeks ago our 14 year old girl, Soley passed away. A few months ago Soley was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, and quickly after, the vet found a large mass of white blood cells in her abdomen which spread quickly and caused her to unfortunately experience neurological issues, seizures, lack of appetite, excessive drinking, and bladder and bowel incontinence. I had to administer few oral medications both liquid with syringe and pill or capsule. Our younger boy, Jacques, is a little bit anxious, he’s a sensitive little guy. Unfortunately this contributes to frequent UTI problems. I have had to administer pills and capsules for Jacques about a couple times a year. Before my two cats I had a mix lab, Princess. She was with me since I was eight and passed away from undiagnosed complications just before her 20th birthday. Aside from my natural inclinations. Through my experience as a cat/dog mom, as well as a care taker, I’m extremely sensitive to to you and your fur babies needs. I understand the stress that you can be left with when you have to leave your babies behind for a few days. And I want to be there to help ease any of that stress.

Paulina was fantastic!! she came by the afternoon before to meet Rooney and get basic instructions. Rooney took to her right away. She showed up on time and I received updates. I will definitely book her again!

Safety, trust & environment

I’m currently only offering drop-ins. Per visit, I like to first take note of your cat/ or dogs state and then check the environment, make sure nothing looks out of place. I go through my checklist that I will have curated based on your concerns, make sure everything is still clean, safe and secure until my next visit. I love to take lots of pictures and I like to communicate how my drop-in went and bring up any questions and concerns if they come up. My hope is that I can make you feel confident while you’re away. I take my job very seriously, and your babies are in a safe caring space when I’m around.

Information Paulina H. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors that I should be aware of. Any ptsd triggers, ticks… for example; loud noises, strangers, other dogs, leash anxiety, do they need to be approached in a very particular way?

A typical day

I prioritize meals and walks/potty time but I also like to cut out a good amount of time for affection and lots of play. Just to make sure they’ve been fully stimulated. As far as special activities or locations, I prefer to go case by case depending on the needs of each individual cat or fog.
