I Love Paws & Whiskers!!!

Pet care experience

*I'll be unavailable for pet-sitting April-October 2025. I look forward to seeing your furbabies next winter in Quartzsite for the 25/26 season! Hey there pet parents! 🐾 For more than 13 years, I've been caring for beloved fur babies & providing tail-wagging happiness. With me your pets aren’t just looked after, they’re pampered with love and expertise. In my care, your senior or special needs pup isn't just in safe hands; they're in the hands of someone who understands the importance of special dietary needs, has experience with medicine administration, and is creative in adapting to different physical requirements. I believe that canine enrichment goes beyond the usual boring walks. So along with plenty of physical exercise your pup will enjoy sniff walks, snuffle mats, & treat puzzles to engage them mentally. I have a deep passion for dog rescue, and over the past decade, I have fostered countless dogs & kittens. This means I've mastered the art of comforting scared doggies, befriending shy cats, and soothing the nerves of those adjusting to a new environment. Whether your furry friend is a majestic 90lb Rottweiler or a tiny 5lb Yorkie, I’ve got the expertise and a plethora of tools - from various-sized harnesses, crates, & leashes to a wide assortment of play toys - to meet their unique needs. Feline Friends: Meow-lovers, fret not! 🐱 I adore cats and I'm thrilled to offer top-notch care in the comfort of your kitty's own domain. With both professional and personal experience in cat-sitting, I bring a burst of playfulness into your cat's life. I don't just keep them company; I like to bring an array of delightful kitty toys during my visits to ensure they're entertained and content while you're away. ☀️ Summer Safety Alert: When the sun blazes, safety is my priority. During the warmer months, outdoor adventures are limited and always supervised closely, ensuring your fur babies stay protected from desert critters and scorching heat. But worry not; inside, there's a world of cuddles, grooming sessions, treat puzzles, and engaging enrichment games waiting for your pets.

Leaving your fur baby is never easy. Paula was wonderful and kept us at ease while away. My senior pup looked happy and comfortable. All the comments and photos we got made us laugh & knew she was in good hands. Thank you Paula for making this experience with Rover a positive one 🐶😊

Both dogs seemed to have enjoyed their stay. I appreciate all the great communication and pictures Paula sent during the day. One dog had never been at daycare. I was a little worried, but Paula knew how to handle it...worried no more!!

Our new puppy Maverick was in such great care with Paula. She was so wonderful and gave us updates and pictures throughout the stay. Maverick was a special case that needed love and attention and Paula exceeded our needs. Maverick loved her and we'll seek her out again should the need arise.

Safety, trust & environment

My home is on a fully fenced property. Fence height varies from 3-6ft. If your dog is a jumper, extremely small (under 5lbs), or an escape artist please take this information under consideration when booking. *Summer Safety: During the summer months all outside playtimes are limited & leashed or extremely supervised. This is to keep pets safe from dangerous desert critters and extreme heat. That means more inside cuddles, brushing, treat puzzles, & enrichment games during summer visits. If your dog will be boarding with me I encourage you to bring their crate & their bed or a familiar blanket. That usually helps them adjust to being away from you. I don't have any furniture restrictions. I believe that our furry family members should be as comfortable as possible. I do believe in consistency though so I will abide by whatever your rules are for your pet. If your pet will be cared for in your home, I am extremely respectful to privacy and security needs. I have been FBI background checked twice in the past year for professional & educational purposes & I have a current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Information Paula P. would like to know about your pet

It is important to me to know the typical demeanor of your dog, and any medical and/or dietary restrictions. I am happy to accommodate dogs that aren't friendly with other dogs if I have no other bookings. I just need to know in advance to make proper preparations. Safety and comfort are extremely important.

A typical day

I love activities that not only physically but also mentally stimulate your dog. I have a variety of treat puzzles and snuffle mats to keep your dog engaged mentally. I also enjoy using a variety of physical activities that don't just include walks. If pre-approved, I am happy to take your dog out on adventures such as hikes for on and/or off leash play. For high energy dogs I can train them to run with me while I bike ride. For a low energy, special needs, and senior dogs we can still enjoy the outdoors at a slower pace. I also have a doggy stroller that accommodates large breed dogs so they don't miss out on any outdoor fun.

Availability

My winter schedule is already quite full. Weekends & holidays are limited so be sure to book your pet's spot early. Rover doesn't allow for me to schedule times I'm unavailable so I have to mark the entire day as unavailable. If there's a day on my calendar showing unavailable I encourage you to still reach out to me as it's possible that timing will work.
