Meeting Pets Needs With Loving Care

Pet care experience

I spent 5 years teaching preschool children and 6 years helping chronically ill patients. Why animals then? Because I believe that animals need the same kindness, empathy, and compassion that people do. Throughout my life I've have had many dogs and cats, as many as four cats at one time. I am currently a volunteer for the rescue organization Forgotten Cats. I have helped friends socialized kittens and puppies, given all types of medications, and assisted elderly cats and dogs with their special needs. When I first needed a pet sitter for my own cats I was nervous to have someone in my home and wondered if they would give my cats the same level of care and attention as I do. If you feel the same I want to put your fears at ease. The great experience I had with Rover inspired me to provide the same service and comfort to you.

Paula was absolutely AMAZING! This was our first time using this service and we are so happy with Paula! I would use her again and can’t recommend her highly enough! She had us completely comfortable leaving our cats under her care

Paula has taken care of my cats over the years and was astute with keeping their water fresh and feeding them at the times they were used to. Paula also kept their litter boxes clean. When one of my senior cats was having out of the litter box episodes she kept the floor clean and fresh and dealt with the situation with good humor and understanding. Now I have two new kittens - a 7 month old and an 8 month old - both rescues. One of my kittens is very shy and skittish and Paula has been helping me to bring him out of his hiding mode and to enjoy playing and socializing. Great progress is being made! I highly recommend Paula for your pet care. Our pets are part of our families and I trust her to care for my kittens just the way that I would - with love and experience.

I want to thank Paula for the times she came to walk and care for my dog, Decca. Being so old and so big, Decca truly has special needs. Paula helped take exceptionally good care of this very much loved Great Dane-German Shepheard elderly dog while I was away. She helped him get up from his mat and encouraged and assisted his shaky walking on his own to the front door. Then she removed the diaper, and assisted his walking down two sets of concrete steps to the yard. She showed wonderful patience as Decca is very slow and sometimes actually falls while he is relieving himself. She then guided him back up the stairs, re-diapered with a fresh one, and reassured him that he did a good job. . She also checked the water bowl every day to make sure it was full and fresh. She carefully crushed and added the half-tablet Prednisone to his food. She covered Decca with a blanket when the outdoor temperature suddenly plummeted. The little notes she left made me feel confident that she had Decca’s best interests always in mind. I would recommend Paula to anyone who needs a responsible, empathetic and capable helper for pet care. Because of your wonderful assistance, I was able to go away with peace of mind knowing all will be handled well.

Paula has cared for my cats and dogs many times over the past 15 years. She is excellent with both cats and dogs and I don’t hesitate to trust her caring for my pets. My cats that are usually very shy with people outside our household readily come out to greet her and enjoy her gentle touch and talking to them. My did also loves her! She gets great pictures of my dog Daisy too! Please feel free to consider Paula for your pet care needs!

When we first meet I will take detailed notes on each animals needs and preferences. I'm comfortable giving medications and adapting to whatever routine your pets are used to. I will make sure your pets are exercised with lots of play, walks, food and water bowls cleaned and filled, cat litter boxes cleaned with each visit and lots of cuddles.I will send you picture updates and/or text notes so you are secure knowing how they are doing while you are not able to be there. For longer stays I can open and close the curtains, water the plants, and bring in the mail.

Information Paula M. would like to know about your pet

I want to know what your pets temperament is. If I will be walking them I also need to know what to expect if we encounter other dogs in your neighborhood. Knowing if your animals are current on their vaccines and flea medicine is important. I will want to know what your routines are such as food, snacks, favorite toys, and medications.

A typical day

I value the importance of play with both dogs and cats. I will rely on what level of exercise and activity you tell me they need. I love to hike so if your dog needs hills and valleys, I'm ready to go! For cats I will play with wand toys and even leave a snack puzzle to keep them busy on my way out.
