A-List care for your 4-legged star!

Pet care experience

My German Shepherd lab mix of 11 years passed away Sept 2014. Because I love to travel, it's not time yet for me to get another dog. My solution to traveling and love of dogs is to house sit for people so they can go on vacation and have peace of mind that their pet is safe at home and not in a strange kennel. I have taken care of many friend's dogs, so I do have several references if needed. I love all breeds, but have taken care of Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Jack Russels, Wheaton Terriers, Blue Heelers, Cocker Spanials, Standard Poodles (my childhood dog), Mutts and Pure Breds, old and young. I'm the type of person who says "Hi" to any dog that walks past me. My dog, Schatzi and I were together 24/7 for 11 years as I worked from home. She traveled across Europe and the US with me and was well trained. In Germany, she would sit under the table in restaurants with no issues. We trained as a rescue team for a few months in Germany, but she was too skittish around loud noises, so we were not able to continue. My presence around dogs is calm and happy - and I love snuggles, walks and play time. I will take great care of your fur family members and your home while you are away. I have many years experience working in film and television at Disney Studios, Tri-Star, Raleigh Studios, etc. and have experience working with "A-listers" and Studio Execs. If you are "in the biz", your privacy and anonymity will be a top priority. Trust and honesty is one of my strongest core values. I currently live in Valley Village and am willing to to house sit within the following radius: from Pacific Palisades to Santa Monica, East of Topanga Canyon and West of Hwy 110. South of Roscoe Blvd and North of Culver City. If you live in Malibu, in a canyon off the beaten track or in Pasedena/Glendale, there will be a $25 per day extra fee (cash) for gas & time on the road.

As someone who frets over leaving my dogs for any length of time, as soon as I met Paula I felt relief. She is someone who can handle my pups with all their idiosyncrasies as well as giving them the love they would miss while I am away. She is responsible and firm while still loving, immediately trustworthy, and a strong handler who was able to keep my dogs safe. I feel lucky to have found her and will definately use her again.

Our little girl Amelia came from a broken home with a checkered past; she typically does not trust strangers, and she tends to be aggressive with other dogs. Paula approached her with nothing but love and took her for walks and gave her "doggie massages" which Amelia just absolutely loved! When Paula left, Amelia clearly missed her and so do we.

I highly recommend Paula as a dog caregiver! She tended my two cocker spaniels (and sometimes my son's blue heeler puppy!) with great patience, play and lots of love. Paula is a true "dog person", who is very kind and loving to the animals. She often took my dogs on long walks, giving them the exercise they needed. Paula is gentle and kind with animals. She truly enjoys them, and they enjoy her, too!

Paula is a dogsitting rockstar! She has taken care of my Little Girl and is about as fantastic as any petsitter I've ever known. Very reliable, responsible, and also personable and trustworthy. You can relax with her taking care of your pets knowing they are going to get the best care possible. Paula plays with my dog, makes sure all her needs are taken care of and that she is safe and comfortable all the times. She is always available for communication and letting me know what is going on with my dog. Paula also looks for new toys and activities and walks which is fantastic since Little Girl is a Jack Russell terrier mix, very smart and honestly can be a handful. Paula is always empathetic with what is going on with Little Girl, she "gets it." She's conscientious about safety, vet information, tags and chipping, and gives my dog her daily tablet using pill-pocket treats. She is an experienced dog owner, animal lover, a wonderful creative person, has lived an interesting life as a world traveler, and I would give Paula my highest recommendation.

Information Paula F. would like to know about your pet

If your dog is aggressive or not well behaved, I am not the sitter for you. My sister had doberman's and rottweilers that were incredibly sweet, so I'm not afraid of bigger dogs - unless they have aggression issues. My dog had many insecurity issues around other dogs and she was sometimes afraid of her shadow (a temperament she had before I got her at the SPCA), so I understand how to introduce nervous dogs to other dogs, and I'm aware of their body language. Any info you can give me on the temperament of your dog, eating and bathroom habits and how they like to play would be appreciated.

A typical day

Depending on the temperament of the dog, walks around the neighborhood, the woods, the beach, the dog parks, or going for a drive. I also love to play fetch and if they like frisbees, that works for me, too.
