I currently live in Mason City with my 9 yr old beagle (Sancho) and pointer/collie mix (Kingston). We spend most of our time playing fetch and cuddling on the couch. They are very friendly and get along well with other dogs. I have a fairly flexible work schedule so I'm able to make it home a couple times during the day and occasionally work from home. I love all dogs and look forward to meeting some new furry friends. Depending on the duration of house sitting stays would probably need to bring my dogs with me. If it's just a night or two might not be a deal breaker but would depend on the situation. I do also have experience looking after elderly dogs that require medication.
