I've had or taken care of dogs since I was a child. I just love dogs, of all kinds. Currently I own a 2 year old lovely, playful, and friendly 40 pound Standard Schnauzer. It would be our pleasure to take care of your pooch during the day or overnight. I can take your pooch for walks every couple of hours, and also take him/her to dog park with my dog......or both. I am retired and your dog will have my full attention, as I will not take more than one dog at a time with mine. I will take a puppy over 6 months old as long as they are house trained. I am not able to take your dog if they show any hostility/aggression to other dogs or people. My preference is dogs between 25 to 80 pounds. I will care for your dog if they are under 25 or over 80 as longs as they are not aggressive and not incessant barkers; if they are either of these it will not be a good fit. They must be at least minimally trained to sit, stay, and come on command. I am retired, and your dog will have my full attention while staying with me. I will make sure your pooch gets as much play, and rest, as you would like. My home is 3 floors and 2,000 square feet. I live on a quiet tree lined street, good for walking, and the park along the Hudson River is a 5 minute walk away.

Paul was incredibly flexible with scheduling, very understanding and accomodating with us humans. Our dog was taken good care of and she had a nice time under Paul’s attentions.
Paul was fantastic! We reached out last minute for some weekend sitting and he responded very quickly and was able to accommodate us. He gave us great recommendations of the area and send lots of updates throughout the day. I don’t doubt Miso had a fun filled day and I wasn’t worried at all about her safety or care. Would book with Paul in a heartbeat!

Our little dog Luna had a wonderful time with Paul and his dog Chaka(sp?) for two nights. Paul sent lots of photos chronically her stay, in the house, at the dog park. We would totally trust Paul again and hope others will take advantage of the care he provides.

I only take one other dog at a time. I require the following to make sure your dog is safe and a good fit for me and my 40 pound Standard Schnauzer: 1. Your dog is neutered or spayed 2. Your dog is familiar and ok at a dog park ( not a deal breaker if it’s a one day stay) 3. Your dog is on tick medicine ( pill or collar) 4. Your dog has had a bortadella vaccine and is up to date on rabies and distemper. 5. Your dog is house trained. 6. Your dog understands at least 2 basic commands: come and sit. 7. I cannot take a dog over 80 pounds
A typical day
I will do whatever your dog is used to: long walks, shorts walks, walks along the town beach, visits to the fenced in dog park. I have lots of toys too for your dog to play with.

Availability
I’m retired and am available almost all the time to give your pooch as much care and attention as needed. Just let me know what your pooch needs. I only watch one dog at a time, which is why my rate is higher; your pooch will get my full attention.
