I love and respect all animals.

Pet care experience

I have been surrounded by family pets since I was 4 years old. Our beautiful shih tzu (sophie) recently passed away aged 18 and I have a 7 year old cat (ozzy) who is the most talkative creature I have ever met! I also have experience working with horses, pigs and cattle. I have experience with socialising abused/rescued and nervous/timid dogs, which many of my current clients are. From 1980 until 1994 I worked in the security industry where I gained some experience as a dog handler. I worked also for Pinkerton's security in charge of covert ops UK. I semi retired in 1994 to spend more time with my family, at which time I was employed as operations director for an exclusive security company. I returned to full time work in September 2007 until February 2018 working on behalf of my local authority delivering recycling products to local residents and business' as a note of point my last work within the security field was between 2012 and 2014 was working as over night companion and protector to a champion hack (spell) at the horse of the year show. I am always quietly calm and confident around animals and never feel the need to shout. I am available 7 days a week and providing I have no prior engagements at a moments notice.

Paul has been great with Coco and Coco loves Paul. It's always peace of mind for me knowing Coco is in good hands

Paul is a great dog sitter and a really nice person. He looked after my bulldog for 10 days while I was on holiday. Paul kept me up to date on my dogs care and provided photos daily. He is calm and patient. I have booked him again for my next trip away.

PLEASE DO NOT USE PAUL. Paul was supposed to look after Loki (having previously dogsat for us before). I received a notification from my home camera whilst I was out that Loki was howling (which was very unusual). When I checked the cameras I saw that Paul had left the house and Loki had been left on his own for 3 hours! I have submitted footage to Rover. Sadly, we have used Paul before and I genuinely thought he was trustworthy. Very disappointed. Please do not use Paul, there are plenty of other amazing sitters on this app!

Cuddles took to Paul when he first come to meet us beforehand. On the day we left on holiday we could see Paul understand animals as he picked up Cuddles when she saw as leaving for holiday, knowing he will put he to ease. We got daily updates and could see in Cuddles body language she was comfortable and relaxed with Paul. It put us ease knowing she is with someone reliable, also that she could stay in her own house while we are away. Not only was Paul very good with our dog, he was very tidy and respectful in our house. We return to a relaxed and content dog!
