The best care for your best friend!

Pet care experience

Thanks for checking out my page! My girls and I are excited to meet you! I’ve lived in Colorado for four years now and I absolutely love it— the fresh air, beautiful sunrises, and all the good-lookin’ pups in town! In late 2018, I “retired” from a hectic career in management and started walking dogs to get out of the house while interviewing for another brutally unrewarding job. Two years later, every wagging butt and wet nose brings me the same joy it did on my very first dog walk. A lifetime dog owner, I currently have three beautiful girls and a handsome goofball in my family. My girls were rescued from a shelter where I previously volunteered back home in Dallas. Each one came with very unique needs, which has helped me better understand and care for our four legged friends. Ranger, my youngest, was actually a client of mine who I had the opportunity to adopt earlier in 2020. I am a fairly active guy and while I am a full time stay-at-home dog dad, my days are often full of plenty of dog walks, trips to Home Depot and my favorite pet store, Pet Supplies Plus! I often bring some of our guests along with Ranger to go walk dogs. Catch us in the Highlands and RINO around lunchtime! My girls are not spring chickens anymore and are perfectly content in the company of fellow easy going pups. Whether your dog needs tons of energy exertion or would rather sprout roots on their bed, they’ll be more than comfortable during their stay. The reviews speak for themselves and any client of mine would attest to both the quality of care and service received. In addition to providing top-notch care for your four legged kiddos, I strive to make the entire process as seamless and simple as possible. I’ll return your dog freshly bathed, exhausted and eager to come back! I look forward to hearing from you soon, please reach out with any questions!! **UPDATE FALL 2020 -I am currently not offering “in home” meet and greets at this time. This is for the safety of you and my other clients, and out of respect for my elderly neighbors. I am happy to give virtual tours via video chat, and will happily meet you wherever it’s most convenient for you for an in person meet up.Thank you for your understanding. -In an effort to reduce the amount of humans stopping by, I am waiving my pickup/drop off fees until further notice. This has become a standard service of mine since the spring and my clients have loved it!

Paul is absolutely incredible. We cannot recommend or compliment him enough. We were SO scared to have our baby stay overnight for the first time, especially with a stranger. But Paul made everything so much better. Now, several stays later, we couldn’t be happier. He is professional, caring, convenient and takes such good care of our baby. The amount of relief that comes with knowing that your dog is well taken care of is everything. Paul has changed our life, we love him!

Paul is an absolute rockstar. He's sat our two dogs and one cat many times this year while we've been away. Our animals love him--he's really attentive and playful with them. He also had no problem giving my elderly cat her medicine (3 pills daily, and it's a complicated task). He also did things to keep up the house that we didn't even ask him to do—that's how great he is. Also, he sent us updates with pics every day. It's nice to know your pets are well taken care of while we're away—it helps us relax at least. Overall, if you're looking for someone to watch your pets who actually cares, Paul is your guy!

Your dogs routine will be discussed during our consultation in great detail to make sure they’re a great fit. There are areas of my home that are off limit to guests however the dogs have ample space indoors with room to relax off the floor on orthopedic beds with fresh blankets daily. Dogs have access to a doggie door 24/7 to my huge backyard to run around in, sunbathe and even cool off (or warm up in the winter) in the climate controlled bunk house. My yard is protected by a very tall fence that is supported by 2 feet of concrete underneath. Any areas accessible to the dogs as well as the entire exterior of my home are monitored to ensure that everyone is safe and happy.

Information Paul B. would like to know about your pet

Don’t let the dozens of golden retrievers on my page fool you- I love all dogs (especially the big ones). Some things to consider that will be assessed during our consultation: temperament is much more important than your dogs size. I do not accept puppies that have not received their vaccines and I do not accept females who have had a heat cycle/ over 9 (nine) months without being spayed and I do not accept males after 6 (six) months that are in tact. This is for the safety of all the dogs and *absolutely under no circumstances will I make any exceptions to this rule*. I am sure your reason for wanting to do otherwise is appropriate however I have been doing this long enough to know how greatly the behavior of not just the animal is concerned but how others will respond to them. Happy to discuss this in detail however I am firm in that decision and have not once had an issue with it. Many of my clients I have worked with prior to the mom delivering the pups and any of my clients will attest the commitment I have to their dogs health, safety and longevity. As I share my home with my business, there are some other hard “no’s”: -Dogs who hike their legs indoors or who are beyond an age where potty training should be even discussed. I understand accidents happen with puppies and even senior dogs and that’s understandable but I do not allow animals to use the bathroom indoors otherwise. -Most of the clients I have been involved with since the adoption process have all attended the same training program @ Dog Dynamix in Arvada. While not a requirement by any means, this has allowed the dogs and myself the wonder of exploring anywhere without limitation. Having nine dogs walk step by step at my side while holding their own leashes, sitting when I stop walking without being prompted and holding any position they’re instructed to until told otherwise is truly an incredible site. While I know that this isn’t a reality for every dog, I do require dogs to be well mannered. Dogs should come when called, sit when told and be able to walk on a leash. While I am not a trainer I will certainly be understanding with puppies and can work with you on some tips to set them up for success. I cannot recommend the training at Dog Dynamix highly enough and the only benefit I get for this is the familiarity and satisfaction of a well trained dog. Promise they’re not paying me! - Dogs who are too aggressive or submissive (yes that’s a thing), are possessive of balls or toys to the point money are showing terrible snapping at others are not welcome. It’s okay to love a ball, but it’s another to get angry when you are asked to share it. -Generally all the dogs are fed at the same time, in close proximity to each other. I understand some dogs don’t care to eat around others and can accommodate their need for private dining. Please let me know ahead of time. Lastly and most importantly, the relationship I have with my clients is the greatest blessing and something I hold in the highest of regards. I am a great guy, very easy going and not to toot my own horn but my sense of humor is top notch. Jokes aside, the relationships I have built over the years are built on trust and communication. I expect honesty and transparency from my clients regarding their dogs health, demeanor and what their goals are for their pup. You can expect the same from me. I invest a great deal of time into the selection process to ensure that every dog is a great fit whether it’s for services at home or on the go. *We love all of earths creatures however my insurance company has limitations on some breeds. These include any breed or mix of: American Bulldog, American Pit Bull Terrier, Boxer, Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Terrier, Boston Terrier, Dogo Argentio, Wolf or “Wolf Hybrid”. **Vaccine information will be requested during consult as well as the name and location of the vet you have a a relationship with.

A typical day

While I loge active dogs that love to fetch, run and hike, I understand that not every dog is capable or willing to be so active. During our consultation we can determine the level of activity your pooch is capable of without it limiting their experience. Some dogs are happy sunbathing all day and that’s totally acceptable. I walk dogs for a few hours around lunch Mon-Fri and usually bring along a guest or two that’s staying with me. It’s not uncommon for us to get walks done early and head west on 70 for an afternoon of wheeling or down south to Glendale Farms for an off leash hike. We do not visit dog parks and while they are a great resource for many dogs we prefer to find healthier ways to socialize and exercise the pups.

My world revolves around my dogs and my clients are no exception. If the weather is nice, spotting a Jeep full of dogs with the top off and the music playing is a common occurrence around town. We frequent many parks and public spaces around town, and you can catch us at Little Man or Sweet Cow regardless of the weather. This is my full time job and when we’re not trekking around town or off road if in the mountains, I’m always close to home.
