Your dog won't know you're gone!

Pet care experience

About this sitter: My name is Patty, I have owned dogs my entire life (I'm 57, so, yeah, a LONG time, lol) and have decided to devote myself FULL-TIME to the care of dogs. I charge an extra $25/night for a second dog, and if you have three or more I can be flexible, depending on the amount of extra effort needed. ***New Rover users,, ask me about my PROMO CODE! *** I have no children, so my pets were as important to me as a child is to a parent. And yours would be too, I don't know any other way to treat them! After I lost my last rescue dog a few years ago(a pit bull sweetheart named Chase), I have found it very therapeutic for me to be with animals and care for them, love them, and cherish the love they always return. They seem to sense that in me, and warm up to me very quickly! I am quick to understand each dog's (or cat's) individual personality and can adjust my behavior accordingly. From the shy ones that just like to be held to the fearful ones that want to be loved but at THEIR pace, to the most dominant ones who thinks they run the show. I recently graduated from Animal Behavior College and now am certified as a Professional Dog Trainer! I learned a lot about how intricate the relationship between humans and dogs can be, and how to best interact with each individual dog, no two are the same! I love the outdoors, am very athletic, and take most of my the dogs I currently sit for to any one of the TONS of parks we have in the area. If you are going away for a few days, I would make it a priority to spend as much time as possible with your pet, because I understand the anxiety dogs feel when their owner is away. My primary goal is to keep him/her feeling completely secure and at ease. In fact, my reward is not so much the money as the pleasure I get knowing that your dog is feeling safe and happy while you are away. I have MULTIPLE references and would encourage you to call them! Why I love dog sitting I believe some dog lovers have it in their blood, because I have loved them since I can remember. There have been dogs in my home since I was born. We had a collie named Laddie, then a German Shepherd named Albert. Then I got my first puppy when I was in 2nd grade, a border collie I named Sarge, then a blonde lab named Sugar, then a Husky/Shepherd named Smokey, then an American Staffordshire Terrier named Maxie, and finally, a pit bull named Chase. I can honestly say that I know they led as good a life as they possible could. When they died, I was DEVASTATED each and every time. It's absolutely horrible to go through that, but I know those dogs had a blessed life and the joy they gave me was immeasurable. My experience administering medication: Through so many years of experience, I have acquired in-depth knowledge of health issues, treatment of injuries, and diagnosing potential health problems, where a veterinarian could further explore. I have done both shots and pills, lotions, drops, bandages, cones, you name it. As part of my training at the Animal Behavior College I have become certified in pet CPR as well.

Patty was wonderful with our older dog with lots of health issues. I was very apprehensive about leaving Stella, but Patty sents daily notes and pictures. Patty took Stella on wonderful walks in the woods which she loves. She spoiled Stella more than we do with lots of scratches and belly rubs. We would definitely use Patty again

Patty exceeded our expectations. She accommodated our schedule on very short notice to do a meet and greet and was wonderful with our dogs and cat. Our two dogs can be a handful but she took them for long walks/hikes each day and kept them busy. She sent frequent updates and responded quickly to messages. We would definitely recommend her and hope to use her again in the future!

Patty took fantastic care of our two dogs for six nights. She was able to accommodate the needs of our puppy and our elderly (13 yr old) dog. Our puppy really enjoyed the nature walks she took him on and our senior citizen enjoyed the attention she gave him while accommodating his mobility needs. She gave our pups lots of TLC and our pups loved her!! Patty went above and beyond with communication and sent pictures and video throughout her stay. Highly recommend Patty for dog sitting.

I will ask ahead of time what your daily routine is with your dog, and stick to that, as dogs are most comfortable with what is familiar to them. But no matter what, I will probably be more attentive and engaging than they are used to (no offense, lol)! I just want them to be as happy as possible!

Information Patty F. would like to know about your pet

Aside from medical issues, the main thing I would like to know is if the dog is aggressive to people/children/other dogs. Several of my own dogs were dog/child aggressive and they required special handling, such as crossing the street when seeing another dog, or being aware of nearby squirrels or rabbits! Again, as a professional dog trainer, I like to work on problem behaviors, such as pulling or hyperactivity. As for breed preferences, I obviously don't care what breed a dog is (or isn't). Having spent time with many different breeds or mutts, I enjoy all of their quirks! That being said, I do have to say that pit bulls have a special place in my heart (I've owned 3). I find myself attracted to the more insecure pets, the ones that are deathly shy of strangers and act out either by being aggressive or running away. The ones whose love and trust does not come easily. Because I know how to best behave around them, I can quickly earn their trust, and it's is tremendously rewarding to me to see that happen and feel their fear go away.

A typical day

Time I'll spend with your dog: If it were up to me, I swear I would spend all day/every day with your dog. If it's during the week, I would have to leave the dog for about 4 hours each day (11:30-3:30ish) to take care of the other dogs that I walk regularly. If your dog is dog-friendly and you wouldn't mind, I could bring him/her along in some circumstances. We usually go on hikes in the woods with access to creeks for swimming/cooling off, they have a blast! My nights/weekends are for spending with your dog! I will ask you what your dog's favorite things to do are. Almost always it involves outdoor fun! No matter where I'm dogsitting, I know several locations for nature walks. I also like to bring various puzzles for mental stimulation, and because I'm a certified trainer, I like to train basic commands and/or work on problem behaviors. I rarely have obligations for which I would have to leave. epending onI am the happiest when I am with someone's pet! Extra house-sitting services Of course! I always leave a house the way I found it, and do any necessary housework to make that happen. I am almost always asked to water plants, both indoor and outdoor.

I live and work pet care 24/7. During the day I walk dogs from approximately 11:30-3:30. Hopefully your dog (s) can come along with the 3-5 dogs I pickup for a group hike that lasts about an hour and a half. After I drop off the last dog, I dedicate the rest of my day and night to the dog(s) in my care. I rarely go out, but if I have to, I make sure the dogs in my care are fully exercised before I leave. But again, that's rare!
