Pet care experience
I have loved pets as far back as I can remember. I’ve personally “parented” dogs, cats, birds, and gerbils, usually one or two pets at a time. I have a large, fenced backyard that’s great for play (and potty relief) as often as your dog is interested. I have an abundance of balls and other toys that I use to engage interested dogs in play outside. Most of my house is available with pet beds in every room for your dog to relax, play, or be comforted on my lap or beside me throughout the day. At night, those who are crate trained will sleep in their crate, as my little Shihtzu Peppy does. Those who are 100% housebroken will be allowed to sleep in dog beds or on the furniture in my Family room. I’ll walk the dogs in the neighborhood at least once a day, for 30 to 45 minutes if they are able. I welcome small dogs only. If your dog weighs more than 15 pounds, this will not be a good fit. I look forward to providing your furry family member with the love and attention that she thrives on!

My back yard is fully fenced. We rotate between inside and outside throughout the day. On hot days, we spend more time inside, and I also use a pool and sprinkler in the yard for the pups to play and keep cool while outside.

In order to provide the best experience for all dogs in my care, I do not accept dogs who have demonstrated aggressive behavior. If your dog is an excessive barker, please bring a humane bark collar for use as needed, or I will use one of mine - beep and vibrate only. We must schedule a meet and greet with you prior to his first stay at my home to make sure he will be comfortable being around Gonzo and Peppy. If your dog has a habit of chewing furniture, dumping trash, occasional potty accidents, or anything else that I should know about, please let me know. In such a case, it may be necessary to crate your dog while I am away from the house on errands.
A typical day
We go on walks through the neighborhood. The backyard is fenced and dogs enjoy playing fetch outside (and inside), as well as “chase” and tug-of-war. I have a small dog pool that i set up on really hot days. And when they’re tired, we snuggle and rest.

Availability
I am home all day, and my dad, also a dog lover, lives here as well. The only time your dog is left unattended is on the rare occasion when I have to take my dad to an appointment. In that instance, your untrained dog will be crated, and your trained dog will be free to relax in a dog bed or on the furniture.
