Dog and Cat Lover!

Pet care experience

Hi! I'm working towards my PhD in Clinical Psychology and in my spare time you'll often find me with my own 2 dogs + 3 cats, or pet sitting for friends. From tiny pups to gentle giants, I love animals! I have years of pet care experience, starting when I was 13 and had my first dog, a 4-lb Yorkie. Nowadays I'm always with my two large dogs (a shepherd mix + malamute mix), one who is extremely energetic and the other who is a large couch potato. Because of my background, I'm sensitive to individual dogs' needs and differences in temperaments and histories. I look forward to spending some time with your pup, whether it's through exercise and fresh air or snuggling at home!

Patricia was so attentive as I went over how to care for my cat Duke! She provided detailed updates after every check in and was calm and gentle enough that Duke came out from his hiding spot for some cuddles. Great sitter :)

Patricia is both incredibly responsible and amazing with animals, making her one of the few people we trust to look after our two little high maintenance pups when we are away. She made our anxious pup feel at ease in our absence and earned the trust of our other pup who does not usually get along well with dog sitters. Patricia also helped us rest assured that our fur babies were in good hands by sending plenty of pictures of their adventures together. I highly recommend Patricia - she clearly extends the love that she has for her own pets to those that she is caring for.

Patricia is an excellent cat sitter. She’s responsible, dependable, and thoughtful. When she cared for my cat, he was happy and healthy and my home was immaculate when I got back. I felt totally comfortable with her watching my cat. Patricia is also a lovely human being and a true animal person. She has successfully integrated a very disparate group of cat and dog personalities in her own home, so it’s a safe bet that your pets will be really comfortable with her. I honestly wish Patricia lived in my city because a good cat sitter who actually is comfortable with all sorts of cats and dogs (and understands their quirks and personalities), communicates well, and inspires trust can be hard to find!

Information Patricia M. would like to know about your pet

I recognize that all dogs and cats come with their own personality and needs. Please let me know if there are triggers (such as other dogs, people, bicycles) that make your dog happy, scared, nervous, sad, etc. so I can make sure s/he is comfortable the entire time you're away!

A typical day

I'm accustomed to providing a different range of care to match your dog's personality and needs. If your dog is up for it, we can go on a brisk walk, smell everything there is to smell, and even stop by neighborhood dog parks. If your dog prefers a quiet or slow pace, I'll make sure to provide that instead. **I am happy to offer daycare for small-medium dogs at my home for clients that I have already met via a walk or drop-in. This is because I have 2 large dogs and 2 cats at home, and so I'd like to meet your pup and discuss with you to make sure my animals' temperaments and yours will be a good match to ensure a good, safe, and fun experience for your dog.
