I love pups.

Pet care experience

In short, I love spending time with dogs. Presently, the dog that owns me named Mr. Dewey Dog. He is a senior, special needs pooch. I cook for him weekly a special diet and he gets fed 5 times a day! I walk him 1 – 3 miles a day. When he was younger I walked him 3 – 5 miles a day in all types of weather including raging heat, hurricanes and blizzards! I treat him with respect and dignity. Every night we have a conversation about what time I am to go to sleep. My dog before Dewey, President Atilla the hound dog, lived until 18 years old. I am an excellent dog person. I communicate with them extremely well. I truly enjoy their company, curiosity and mischievous behavior.

When we first heard of Rover as a way to make sure our little girl was cared for while we were working we were a little skeptical at first. But then Patrice came over to meet us and all our worries faded away. Our doggy Mayzel is in such great hands. Patrice sends pics and a little recap of their time together and Mayzel seems so happy. She is caring, kind, knowledgable and most importantly keeps Mayzel safe. We don't even think twice when Patrice is with Mayzel and we use here everytime we know we will be away for an extended period. She gets our full reccomendation and we wouldn't think of leaving Mayzel with anyone else.

I have never felt more comfortable leaving my two large dogs than I do with Patrice and Ken. They are so caring and treat them like they are their own. I received cute pictures of my 10 y.o. and special needs 7 y.o. pups all weekend, which reassured me. Will definitely use them again for boarding and I highly recommend them for anyone in the Danbury area.

There are many ways to describe the professionalism and expert care our dog, Daisy, received while under Patrice’s care for 8 days/7 nights. Patrice was extremely responsive upon initial contact and remained so throughout Daisy’s stay. Patrice’s level of extensive knowledge in the caring and training of dogs is evident. Daisy is a young, 9 month old yellow lab who had never been away from us. Daisy took to Patrice and her lovely family instantly. Her home is welcoming and extremely comfortable and in an area perfect for long “romps” as Patrice likes to call long walks. Daisy’s stay was perfect in every way. Multiple updates and photos and Daisy even came home knowing new tricks and much improved leash walking and “meet and greet” when a person approaches. Patrice is knowledgeable in nutrition as well and provided excellent tips on various ways to keep Daisy’s diet well balanced and highest in nutritional value. To add to the “above and beyond” category, Daisy went into her first heat under Patrice’s care. Patrice knew just what to do which included keeping me updated in the event Daisy needed Medical attention. I am grateful that I found Patrice and grateful that we can rest assured next time we have the need for Daisy care. We plan to have Patrice begin training Daisy in the coming weeks as well. All around a wonderful experience. Daisy can’t wait for her next stay with Patrice and to see her soon for training.

Patrice is not only a very dependable walker and pet sitter, but has also been extremely helpful in advising me about a great veterinarian in the area. This has been the key to helping my older lab with her illnesses. She had also helped her with diet and supplement recommendations and she truly cares about dogs!
