Pet care experience
Ever since I can remember, I've been a "dog person." My family adopted its first dog (a basset hound) when I was 10 years old, and we've had dogs in the family ever since. Which means I have a ton of experience potty-training, administering medications, and maintaining strict/healthy diets. Because of my love for dogs, I have sought out dog sitting jobs, and have fortunately worked with a diversity of breeds (from my own dachshunds to dobermans) and ages! Bottom Line: I consider dogs to be a part of the family! And promise to take very special care of them :) In addition to my skills with dogs, I consider myself to be a very organized person and keep my appointments updated in a planner as well as on my phone. Furthermore, I enjoy being clean and tidy and ensure that the house is left the way I found it.

Worst Ever. Let me start by saying that my needs in a dogsitter go beyond a typical job. My dogs are a bit older, and one is blind and was recently diagnosed with cancer. My dogs are my life and I do not ever leave them alone overnight. So I needed to find a sitter who would agree to my needs and spend time with them during the day, as well as stay with them overnight. I was especially concerned about the nights of July 3 and 4 due to fireworks. I made these requirements very clear and Patille eagerly agreed to them upon taking the job. Unfortunately, she did the bare minimum. She came, fed my dogs and left. She did not spend the night either of the important nights, and she did not spend any reasonable time with them during the day. Further, when I inquired about why, she lied about her whereabouts. My dogs are fine, but my stress level about them and their care while on vacation was not. If you want anything more than your dogs getting fed, and if you value honesty, I would not hire her.
Patille watched my 7 year-old dachshund about a dozen times, ranging from overnight visits to month-long stays. My pup has severe separation anxiety and thus can prove to be quite a handful. (She needs to be crated whenever left alone, can be prone to accidents when experiencing transitions -- in short, she's not an easy dog to watch.) Patille took excellent care of her on every occasion, giving her the kind of love and attention that only a true dog lover has to offer. She also always kept me updated about how she was doing, which I really appreciated. My dachshund is usually very anxious about transitions and hates to be left, but she loved spending time with Patille so much that it seemed she hardly noticed I was gone. Patille is a kind, attentive, and responsible dog sitter and I give her my highest recommendation!

I love exploring and playing in parks AND dog-parks (although, if your dog doesn't do well in dog-parks, just let me know). If there is an opportunity to hike, I can take your dog on a hike as well! I am also happy to go for a neighborhood walk, then come back home to lounge and relax after a long day.
