Happy & Safe home for your BFF

Pet care experience

I have loved dogs since I was a little girl, and have been around them most my life. My big corporate job had me leaving my dog at kennels, with little to no personalized care. He was a sweet Doberman, and lived with me in Philadelphia, Portland (OR) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands). As he got older it got more difficult to find the right place where he could be while I was traveling. After I had to put him to sleep, I was heart-broken for 4 years. Time came for me to have a new pup, as I had the support system to help take care of him. But again I found myself spending more time away from him than with him. After I decided to leave the corporate life for my own business, decided to help high profile professionals that love dogs but have no option but to leave them in places were they are not well taken care of. I found Rover, and it is the right platform to help people that want their 4-legged best friend to have a good time while they are traveling, or that get too busy with life! I live in an apartment with lots of gardens, flowers and trees. The complex is completely closed off and to get in you need a pass card. It is safe and very convenient to walk all our guests. Why I love dog sitting As a little girl I had "Motta", a curly medium size white mutt. He was my best buddy! One morning when I woke up, he was not there, my mom told me he had escaped when someone left our front door open. I was heartbroken. I did not have other dog till I was a teenager, we got 2 male Miniature Doberman Pinschers, 1 for me and 1 for my sister, mine got really sick with Parvo Virus and he died in my arms, he was just 12 weeks old. 10 years later I decided it was time to get a dog, and got a full size Doberman Pinscher. He had a little white star on his chest, so he couldn't be a show dog, but for me, he was just the right puppy! I lived in an apartment complex with tons of kids, so I picked a very approachable name for my puppy: Scooby. We had many adventures together, at that time we lived in Philadelphia, we moved to Portland OR and from there to Amsterdam, The Netherlands. At 9 years old, he started having trouble with his back legs and the time came to make the hardest decision of my life. I cried all night but I knew that I have released him from all the pain and discomfort, that he was running free over the Rainbow Bridge. For 4 years I was the crazy lady saying hello to all doggies that came her way, not acknowledging the human at the end of the leash. I knew it was time again to have a new best buddy, and I found my sweet Pharaoh Hound. We have shared many adventures and have many more to come! About my yard I have a small patio, and half of it is covered with commercial grade carpet, where my dog and his guest will lay down. It is fenced. My experience administering medication Yes, but I do not do any shots.

Pat is the world’s best dog sitter! She instigates endless playing, all the while sending us frequent snapshots of the fun! I feel zero guilt about going on vacation without our dogs if I can get Pat to stay with them!

We have used Pat since Anakin joined our family a couple yrs ago. Pat is a little more costly than others I've seen in my area but she's worth it-dependable, a big dog lover, and gave my Anakin mucho TLC when we recently boarded her w/Pat for 10 days. We plan to board Anakin w/Pat in the future if the schedule allows-I like to call it Pat C's dog spa & retreat! Anakin loves Pat and occasionally has walks w/another 4-legged companion-Archie that I think my dog needs. Pat always asks if it's okay to walk w/another dog that she may be caring for or her own dogs. I think many people may not realize that many hired dog walkers often walk w/multiple animals which I find very risky not only for the dogs but also for the walker. Pat is highly recommended in my book!

Pat is attentive and super detail-oriented when it comes to our fur babies. She took the time to make sure they felt comfortable and at ease when we were away. Not to mention that she kept our place in tip-top shape which is usually difficult with two crazy cats! We definitely recommend Pat and would have her watch our fur babies again!

Pat did a wonderful job watching our cat while we were out of town. Her communication was great, and she was very precessional. I would 100% recommend her, and would have her watch our cat again. Thanks Pat!

Information Pat C. would like to know about your pet

Before sitting a dog, I need to know if he/she is comfortable with other dogs. With smaller dogs, I need to know if they have problems with bigger dogs. I am OK if they take a little time (4-8 hrs) to get used to a bigger dog, but if they just DO NOT like medium size dogs then I will not be able to help you, as I do not want any of my guests to feel uncomfortable in my house. I need to know vet info, vaccination history and any other special details I need to pay attention to and/or take care of: is your dog scared of loud noises? any allergies? eating times? commands they understand?

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks My apartment complex is fully gated and has lots of green areas and huge trees. Your doggie will have fun walks inside the complex. Your dog's sleeping arrangement I will need his/her bed and will place it in my bedroom or in the living room, as per your request. Time I'll spend with your dog I have very flexible schedule, as I own my business! I can work from home as much as I want, the max my furry guests will be alone is 6 hours.
