Pet care experience
I am that friend who gets called up asking to watch their dog over the weekend or check in on the cats while they are out of town. I have volunteered at a Chicago animal shelter caring for dogs (and cats) - deep cleaning, walking, socializing and feeding. Being a pet mom for years, taking care of animals has been one of my biggest joys. Aside from love and affection, I find importance in consistency and following a regimen to ensure quality of care. A couple times a year I will foster dogs from PAWS Chicago. I have taken care of adult dogs and puppies, administered medication, and followed the shelter's direction of care. In my free time, I volunteer as an Animal Keeper at a wildlife rehabilitation center.

This was Benny’s second stay with Pam and she was absolutely fantastic! Pam showered our Benny with love and attention, sending us adorable pictures and updates regularly. It felt like our pup was on a mini-vacation too! We returned to a happy, well-cared-for pet. Five paws up for their warmth, reliability, and pet-loving spirit!

Pam was a great sitter for senior doggie, she is very caring and even taught her new tricks! My girl seemed very happy while she was there and looked comfy and relaxed in all the photos I saw. She’s a bit more high maintenance than she used to be but Pam had no issue with the special diet instructions and I felt assured that she was in good hands. Pam is wonderful, I’ll definitely go back the next time I can’t bring my girl with me.
Pam is wonderful. She takes such good care of my pup and sends me lots of videos! I’ve never seen him so excited to see a sitter. He loves staying with her.

I have a fenced in backyard where your furry friend can play and run around. I am someone who is very aware of their surroundings and overall a cautious person. Any directions or notes you leave, I will follow. Safety is a priority for me and also your dog. I pick up on body language of animals and make note of any behaviors that could be of concern.

Let me know if your pet requires medication, has special needs, food routines, activities they love, and what their behavior looks like around other dogs, cats, and people. If you are interested in boarding or daycare, I have two cats who mostly get along with dogs that have more relaxed and chill personalities. If your dog does not get along with cats, it will not be a good fit as I don't want to create a stressful environment. Feel free to share any additional details of your pet that would be helpful for me to know.
A typical day
We can play in my fenced backyard or take a 15 min walk to McKinley Park and hang there for a bit. I love watching dogs experience their surroundings. Sniffing, rolling in the grass, watching the ducks in the pond swim around, etc. I value mental stimulation just as much as physical.

Availability
At the moment, I work hybrid, which gives me some flexibility in my day-to-day schedule. Depending on the time and day, I could be available morning, afternoon, and evenings. Long overdue, but I recently am starting to put my health first and move my body more, especially outdoors. Walking dogs would do wonders for the both of us. I do also have a car that would allow me to easily get to you.
