Outdoorsy dog lover and adventurer

Pet care experience

I am an animal lover currently studying biology at the University of British Columbia and I love dog-walking and sitting great animals with great owners! My family has owned 7 dogs over the years, so I have grown up around all kinds of dog breeds and personalities - walking, caring for, and vacationing with these furry friends. When I was a kid I participated in a Veterinary Camp program for several years that allowed me to gain valuable experience with all types of animals, including dogs, and become Pet First-Aid certified. Now I both take care of animals part-time and foster animals for the SPCA. I care greatly about the health and happiness of the animals I look after and look forward to meeting more furry friends! Currently, I have a 3 yr old cat named Hunter, who is very friendly and playful with everyone she meets, as well as a 2 yr old cat named Ophelia, who is also playful and quirky! In regards to special skills, as previously mentioned I am Pet First-Aid certified, I have 3 years of Mixed Martial Arts training, and I’m not bad at frisbee. Note: I am willing to look after pets other than cats and dogs, such as bunnies, hamsters, mice, bearded dragons, leopard geckos, and snakes. Please inquire about your specific pet and my rates if your animal is not of the feline or canine variety!

Paige was amazing. She was fast to respond and helpful when it came to my lack of knowledge on the app. She was incredibly affordable considering the care and love she gave my critters. She was on time and always sent back the cutest pictures! I was happy to know my pets were being taken care of by her and I could tell they were happy too. I’ll definitely be booking with her again.

Paige did a fantastic job taking care of my Husky puppy. She is an enthusiastic pet lover and very professional. She was also super accommodating when I had to change my pickup schedule at the last minute. Overall a terrific experience!

Paige did a great job taking care of our dog over a long weekend away. I would definitely use her services again.

Paige walked Brownie for a couple of weeks. She was great with Brownie and in constant contact. I would recommend her!

Information Paige V. would like to know about your pet

I'd like to know what energy level your dog operates at, and whether or not your dog has ever bitten people, children, or other animals. If your dog has any fears or likes/dislikes that you think are relevant, that would be helpful information too. I do not have breed preferences for this job.

A typical day

I'll walk dogs to local parks and around the clients neighbourhood or my own neighbourhood if I am boarding your dog. I live in Wesbrook Village on UBC campus, which means I am barely 5 minutes away from Pacific Spirit park, so this is my go to place for dog walks! Depending on the location of your home, I like to take dogs on walks through Pacific Spirit, Kits dog beach, and Spanish Banks dog beach. I'm happy to play with various toys with the dogs I take out, whether it be a ball, frisbee, chew-toy, or whatever the dog's personal favourite may be. Sometimes all it takes to keep a dog happy is a simple game of chase, and I'm sure we'll both be tired out when that's over! But don't worry, I'll keep your dogs hydrated and cool on those hot summer days :)
