I'm 44, married and have a 14 year old daughter. We've been thinking about getting a small dog to add to our family but we're not sure what we want just yet. I thought this would be a wonderful way to learn about different breeds. I've always loved small dogs. I lost a miniature Dachshund some years ago and although I love all animals, I have a special place in my heart for smaller ones. We have one cat but she is mostly outside and is very docile. Our backyard is fenced and our lot is close to an acre large. When I was a young adult, I made extra money dog, cat and house sitting.
