DOG PEOPLE
Pet care experience
It has been pure joy being part of the Rover community, taking care of dogs here since 2018. We have met the kindest, warmest humans and dogs. We have two children who we try to include in helping so they are learning about responsibility, but as a result we can't take any dogs with aggression issues. Since we moved to Vancouver we have a smaller (fenced) yard, so we have reduced the number of dogs we take at a time. WE ALWAYS MAKE EXCEPTIONS FOR REGULARS. We are in love with our regular dogs and even if we come up as unavailable, if possible we will always make room for them. We have a rescued chihuahua mix and an unfixed female corgi, so we don't take unfixed males with the exception of puppies. We love puppies and can handle dogs with special care or medical issues, but please no dogs with any history of aggression. They must be safe with children and other dogs! I don't charge for meet & greets. (30 minutes is fine) I find dogs adjust much better when they are returning to a familiar space. Meet & Greets give them a chance to bond with our dogs, so when they are left they are already happy to see us and they settle in much easier. I can accommodate all diets, but not raw meat diets, please. For travelers I know how hard it is to work around air travel in particular. I'm very flexible and I understand how stressful it is trying to work around planes, trains and borders. Early morning drop offs are always encouraged. I am an early riser, up at 5 a.m. daily, so you can always drop them early if you're trying to get out of town. I work mostly from home, so I'm always around for love, walks and attention and we live across the street from a park. I'm a graduate student so I take a couple of classes, I have to schedule drop offs around, but mostly I'm home. If your dogs gets messy I provide baths. Every dog is so different. The first night is usually the hardest for most dogs. They usually need extra comfort to get through the first night, but usually after that we've built enough trust that they relax. We used to be fosters so we have a lot of experiences with caring for dogs who are scared and out of their element. Dogs who are well socialized and accustomed to staying away from home rarely have a hard time, especially if they are playful. Our corgi is 2 years old and loves to play with every dog, which is a great comfort to most dogs. Also our kids lavish dogs with attention. We are a dog family.
Reviews
Page and their family took amazing care of our French Bulldog puppy. They provided daily updates and everything from drop off to pick up was seamless. We are looking forward to using them again and cant recommend them enough.
Page and her family are amazing! I received regular updates each day with photos and thoughtful details about Truffle’s day, and it always seemed he was having such a good time I was afraid he wouldn’t want to come back! 😆
I have used Page a number of times and continue to be very impressed with the care she takes with Charly. Always very responsive and updates me with pictures on regular basis. Will continue to use her services going forward.
Luna loved her stay at Page's house! She seemed to have a lot of fun and got on great with Page's kids and two dogs. We received daily updates with photos about how Luna was doing. I'd definitely have Luna stay with Page again and would recommend her to others.

It is helpful to know what words you use to indicate when they need to go outside and what times they are used to eating. It's helpful to know their sleeping habits and if they are used to sleeping in a special bed or crate, please bring it. ** Please don't bring small toys. Halley is high energy and they always end up under furniture or out in the bushes and can be lost or left behind. We have plenty of toys to play with.
A typical day
We have a park across the street. I usually avoid dog parks with dogs that are not mine since they can get a little crazy. I do love Spanish Banks, but only for dogs who are already used to it.
