Pet care experience
I have a long history of caring for animals in freelance, foster, and adoptive roles. There has always been at least one dog in my house — either adopted or a foster. I have owned 3 boxers, 1 Shih Tzu mix, and 1 pit bull; in addition to 10+ fosters (including emergency fosters). Special care I have provided includes: elderly dogs and puppies, mobility issues (paralysis, torn ACL, and only having three legs), rashes, digestive issues, allergies, resource guarding, and blindness and deafness. While I did not grow up around cats, in the past two years I have taken care of 4 cats. 3 of the cats were indoor only, and the other was a hybrid of indoor-outdoor. My responsibilities included: feeding, cleaning, playing/enrichment, and giving medication.
