UPDATED 6/10/2020 - I decided to try fostering dogs. However, I fell in love with the first pup I took in and adopted her. I’m what they consider a “Foster Failure” lol. After two years without a pup of my own, I now have a four-legged companion again. Her name is Ophelia and she is supposed to be a two year old bull terrier mix. I think she might be younger due to her high energy and playfulness. She comes from an abusive home. At the moment all my love and attention will be on her. I will unfortunately not be able to take care of any other pets at this time. I hope once I get Ophelia better trained, I will be able welcome other friendly pets to my home. ———————————————— I've been an animal lover my entire life. From a young age, I've had dogs of all different sizes and temperament. At the moment, I do not have any dogs. I lost my beloved chocolate lab, Coco, to cancer in April 2018. He was my shadow, always at my side. I miss him very much. I see this opportunity with Rover as a way to mend my broken heart. With time, I know that I will have another four-legged companion tripping me up around the house. I'm a retired Veteran with twenty-nine years service in the U.S. Army. I'm home full-time and I don't believe that animals should be put in cages. I've never been happy leaving my pets caged in a kennel. My pets have always had run of the house. If you choose me to watch over your pet, I promise to love and care for it as if it was my own. They will be spoiled rotten. I have a large fence-in backyard in which they can go out and play in. I also have a fenced-in side yard for frequent potty breaks.
