Hello all! I am a full-time MSW (master’s in social work) hospice researcher at a local non-profit in Danvers, MA, but I love to take care of pets in my spare time. I have had three dogs in my own personal care since I was a young child. I played a huge part in training and caring for each pet. I also have years of experience with pet care in other people’s homes. I can provide references if necessary to attest to my quality of care. My first dog I owned was a Newfoundland— the most breathtaking creatures. My second dog was a tiny poodle. Thus, I am comfortable working with all sizes of animals. What I need from you: knowledge on how to best care for your pet (the more detail the better, preferably written). I would also like to know before entering a home that a pet will not likely respond violently. I recently worked with a dog who was very upset to have me in his home. With lots of patience, time, and care, I was able to win the dog over using non-threating communication techniques. I was able to create an enjoyable puppy-vacation over the two-night stay for both of us. Other skills include light house work and maintainence, basic training, doggy massages, and lots of exercise as I like to stay very active myself. I have my own vehicle and am willing to take pets wherever they need to go, or to explore parks, go on play-dates, and go on adventures together! I feel connected to animals in that I feel they can sense my presence and know that I am not harmful, but rather someone who is there to take care of them.
