Walk, hike, or run, let’s have fun!

Pet care experience

I grew up with dogs, both Keeshonds, loved walking and playing with them. So much brushing! Both developed diabetes later in life, so I’ve had experience with giving elderly dogs insulin injections. My partner and I adopted a wonderful cat when we moved to Saratoga. We’ve had to give him a variety of antibiotics until he was finally diagnosed with asthma, and we administer an inhaler twice per day. So I’m also experienced with feline asthma and administering pills and liquid medicine to feline friends. I’m an avid jogger, hiker, and walker. Back when I was living in California, I enjoyed taking dogs out for jogs in the sunshine to help tucker them out. I’m happy to take dogs (and cats!) out for strolls around the neighborhood, Congress Park, Saratoga Spa State Park, or anywhere you might like them to get to enjoy.

I was very happy with Olivia. I have two German Shepards that can be a bit intimidating. Especially my female and Olivia handled them both very well. It was such a relief knowing she was going to take care of my dogs while we were away for the day. Thank you Olivia!!

Olivia was absolutely great! We had her stay in our home with all three of our fur babies while we were away at a wedding. She checked in consistently throughout her stay, took excellent care of our home, and even better care of our pets. Plenty of photos were shared, she did her best to keep our pets on their existing schedules, and gave us peace of mind knowing they were taken care of to the same standard we'd have while we were gone. We would 10/10 recommend and use Olivia again!

I’m happy to adjust my schedule as much as possible to fit your pet’s specific needs. I always feel better knowing that they’re being fed at the usual time or being let out at the time they’re most accustomed to. Please communicate any specific needs (medicine or food preferences, etc) or behavioral challenges they might have. While I take pride in reading body language and getting to know them, I love to know any special personality traits you’d like to share ahead of time since you know them best!

Information Olivia W. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know about any medical needs ahead of time. Please let me know about any sensitive areas they might have due to arthritis or trauma that I should avoid touching. Feel free to tell me anything else you think I should know before meeting your furry friends.

A typical day

If it’s hot outside, I love letting puppers run through a hose or the sprinklers - it can help keep them cool while letting out some energy! I also love putting ice cubes in their water dish. If it’s cold and rainy/snowy and they like the snow, I still like to take them out for walks so they can play a bit. Otherwise, indoor games like fetch or tug of war. I love Congress Park for walks because it’s pretty flat and easy to walk around, though there do tend to be ducks so I would avoid it for dogs that might be distracted by them. The State Park is beautiful if your pup enjoys a bit of a longer walk with some hills.

I’ve got a couple of part time jobs, one of which is making dough for a doughnut shop in town early mornings a few days each week. So most afternoons I like to occupy my time with long walks or runs. Our cat can’t go outside, and we’re not allowed to have a dog where we live, so I’d love to enjoy some of those outings with a furry friend who can enjoy them with me. :)
