Experienced House and Pet Sitter

Pet care experience

I house sit/pet sit for close family friends quite often. I have been fingerprinted and CPR certified. I also have experience working for a company called Midtown Mutts. We serviced in the greater Sacramento areas. I would do in home play, feedings, walks, giving out medicines. As well as giving detailed reports as to what happened during the visit. Best to reach me through text message. Thank you

This was Olivia’s 8th time taking care of Maisy and she died in her care. I write this not out of anger but out of caution to others to not use her, and stay clear of Rover altogether. On the second day of taking care of Maisy, Olivia fed her and left that morning to run some errands. She returned at 2:30 and noticed that Maisy was laying in bed and acting lethargic. Olivia ate a sandwich and took a nap. She did not notify us or contact a vet at this point which would have been the right course of action. At 4:48 she tried to take Maisy for a walk and captured two videos of her staggering around. At 5:18 she messaged me on Rover saying to call her because Maisy was lethargic. Maisy had already had a seizure and was dead at this point. She then texted and called my partner. By the time I got on the phone, not knowing Maisy was dead and this was after 6pm, Olivia was rambling but she said she was at the vet so I asked to speak to the vet to help troubleshoot Maisy’s condition. The vet receptionist just asked me when I would like to pick up Maisy’s remains. That’s how I found out that my 9 year old baby was dead. Olivia cared about Maisy but I do not believe that she acted in our dogs best interest when employed to take care of her. There is a certain degree of negligence in a caregivers role if you recognise a problem and don’t act on it. If she had just taken her straight to the vet at 3pm this review would have been very different, and even now after the fact she has not communicated or shown any remorse for that. That is why we would not recommend her any longer. We can never know how the outcome would have changed if Olivia had of contacted us when she first observed alarming symptoms, maybe Maisy would still have passed away. As her parents we deserved some say in the potentially life saving care she could have received in those hours of inaction. The bottom line is - the first time she contacted us, our girl was already dead.

Olivia was amazing! Olivia showed up on time! She communicated very well and sent great updates/pictures throughout her stay! I felt so at ease knowing that she was the one watching Shiloh and in our home. Highly recommend Olivia!

Safety, trust & environment

When In my clients home I treat their home how I would want mine to be treated. I am there to give the fur baby love and attention while their owners are home. I respect each persons homes especially when they’re trusting me with something so personal. The safety of the animal comes first, so It’s my job to make sure what we’re doing is in fact safe.

Information olivia v. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if the dog has any reactions to other dogs, humans, animals…etc. Also, if the dog has any special needs I can account for. As well as any past medical conditions.

A typical day

A typical fun day would be Picking up the fur baby and getting them excited to go on a walk, or even go in the back yard. Then, ideally we would go for a nice walk so that way they can get some exercise in and get out of the house. Then, I’d take them back home for a little bit more play maybe in the house or backyards and refresh their water bowls. Some days we could even go out to a park or a trail near by and take them their as well. So that way they get a change of scenery too.

I am currently working part time. I usually work during the day but I am off for the evenings. I would be able to come after work and be able to spend time with your fur babies. Also, We could schedule some early mornings visits or walks as well. Fortunately My job has my schedule out for months in advance so I’d be able to plan more definitively
