Pet care experience

HI! I'm Olivia. I'm originally from the east coast and I love animals but dogs have a special place in my heart! I've grown up with dogs and have been around them my whole life as there are always dogs in our family. I can't imagine a home without a dog! My dog, Winston, is truly my family member and my "baby". We carve out time several times a week where he can be active outside of our neighborhood, sometimes that's going to the beach, short hikes or half-day trips exploring the Bay Area. If your dog is up for it, they'll join too. Our philosophy with dogs is to keep them well-exercised and get enough mental stimulation such as hide-and-seek, teaching new tricks, give them time to sleep and nap, enjoy fresh air and sunshine and socialization with other dogs. We think this makes for a happy, healthy, calm and balanced dog. I am home most of the time and so is my partner who mainly works from home when he is not traveling for work. We enjoy being outside and most of the time our pup joins us. Between the two of us we have life-long experience with dogs and taking care of them from all stages of their life; puppyhood to the golden years.

Olivia is a wonderful dog sitter! She truly cares for your dog as if it's her own. I think Lily actually enjoyed staying with Olivia better than she likes being home from the frequent walks and trips to the park to the car ride they took together! It was so nice getting regular updates and photos and took the stress away of leaving our dog. I highly recommend Olivia to anyone!

Olivia is one of the few people that I would ever trust to take care of my dogs. She puts all of her energy and love into caring for her own dog, Winston, and does the same for every animal she meets. She has a tremendous heart, is super responsible, attentive, and very caring. She is naturally gifted and is the best animal caretaker I know.

Information Olivia P. would like to know about your pet

We do not have breed preferences and raw fed dogs are welcomed! Please provide as much information in your dog's profile as possible. If not provided in their profile tell me a little bit about your dog such as: -their activity level -any health issues we need to be aware of -any food and/or toy guarding issues -are they comfortable riding in cars -any separation issues -anything else we need to know about your dog -and lastly any house rules that your dog follows at home so that we can keep consistency when your dog stays with us. At the end of the day I want your dog to be happy and stress free when away from home so any information you can provide about their routine and house rules is very helpful!

A typical day

OUR HOME: Although we live in an apartment our home is a large 1,100 SQ foot unit with a large private patio. The building has an elevator which is great for older or dogs recuperating from injuries. Our home has central cooling, for those rare but hot days during the summer. We have plenty of comfy rooms for your dog to choose to sleep in. Our dog has 4 beds of his own between medium and large size beds and is willing to share with your dog or you can bring their own. We also have an outdoor dog bed and sofa on the patio. If your dog sleeps in a crate feel free to bring it. When we're home and the weather is nice we have the patio doors open so that your pup can come in and out as they wish. Your dog will be walked a minimum of 2x a day, more often than not 3x plus a quick potty break before we settle in for the night if your dog needs one. Our walks will either take place around the neighborhood or in neighboring parks like Cesar Chavez and various other parks around the east bay. Over the weekends, we often go to the ocean and take long walks on the beach or other fun places for your dog to hike across the bay area and be in nature. Of course, if your dog is not into that then we'll stick to neighborhood walks. Your dog will be treated like a member of our family when they stay with us. YOUR DOG'S HOUSEMATE: Winston is currently 12 years old. He was born and raised in a big city but is a country dog at heart. He lives to be outside and sunbathe and grew up hiking on the weekends. He doesn't hike as long or far now but he has discovered a love for the beach since moving to California. He doesn't play or wrestle with dogs these days but he is super friendly and loves having the company of other dogs around. PLEASE NOTE: Due to our dog's age we prefer to board well-behaved dogs that can understand when our dog isn't in the mood to play so we can reduce any amount of stress on him. We do not take dogs that are not house-broken, use pee-pads inside to do their business, are hyper-active or who are under 1 year of age unless I am already familiar with your dog. Since we are welcoming your dog into our home and family we only accept one dog at a time. This allows me to provide more attention to your dog and for them to join us on our jaunts with our dog and longer/more walks throughout the day if we are staying local.
