I was very thankful and appreciative of Olivia being thorough to ensure safety and that both parties were comfortable with the stay by asking to meet prior at a local public park. She also made sure to send photos of Mater throughout the entire weekend I was away. Unfortunately, I was disappointed overall. Prior to booking, I made sure to ask Olivia if she had any prior obligations for the weekend that would take her away from being with Mater the entire time since he has severe separation anxiety. She ensured me that it would be no issue to be with him the entire weekend as she had no other obligations and even said she would be fine to be with him the entire time. I was very disappointed to see on the puppy cam that Mater was left alone for over 4 hours on Saturday and was continuously barking. It was so excessive that my neighbors even texted me to make sure everything was okay, and my apartments called me later in the week to inform me of the excessive barking. I also saw on the puppy camera that Mater was left in his crate multiple times even while Olivia was there, which is not his normal routine and only produced more stress for him. When I arrived home from my trip, he was completely filthy, as if she let him roll in dirt after his fur being wet. His mouth and paws were soaking wet from excessive panting over the weekend, and his leg was raw from excessive licking and gnawing at himself due to the stress as well. Although I can appreciate Olivia being available last minute and again, her thoroughness in meeting prior to booking, I think overall it was just not the best match for Mater and his needs. I tried to make sure Olivia was well aware of his needs prior to booking, as well as leaving detailed notes for her on the counter before I left, especially since this was my first time booking with Rover and I wanted to be as thorough as possible. But it is unfortunate that those concerns and needs that I informed her of were not considered enough during her time of staying with him. As sweet as she is, I think this was a poor match for Mater and she may be a better match for an older dog who is comfortable being alone on occasion or a dog who does not have severe anxiety.

My dog seemed very happy and didn’t care that we were gone for 4 days.
