Olivia and Nick are the proud and happy owners of two adopted kittens – Melba (a dark domestic shorthair) and Cutie (a light domestic shorthair calico). They originally met Cutie and Melba at the Crumbs & Whiskers Café in Georgetown! At the end of 2019, right before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, they adopted Cutie and Melba together. Both are affectionate, friendly, well-behaved cats who love to be loved. Since Olivia and Nick live in the Navy Yard, their location makes it easy to take long pet-friendly walks along the Navy Yard docks, Southwest Waterfront, and National Mall – which they do often. Within half a mile are three dog parks which are easily accessible. Several high-quality veterinarians are within close proximity to their neighborhood with District Veterinary Hospital in Eastern Market serving as their go to. From young kittens and puppies to senior cats and dogs, Olivia and Nick have experience with a variety of cat and dog breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Olivia in particular has had a lot of exposure to a diverse group of animals and a plethora of various pet experiences – she grew up with two dogs, two cats, and her siblings routinely had a rotating bunch of rabbits and guinea pigs. Both have experience with special needs animals, administering medication, and multiple animals. When pet-sitting, Olivia and Nick treat their clients’ animals as they would want their own taken care of – with love and according to their specific needs. Each pet is different, and they understand owners have specific requests which they work to abide by to ensure their clients are comfortable with the care their pets are receiving. To create a safe environment, Olivia and Nick prefer to do meet and greets before their reservations to learn more about their clients and pets. Nick currently works in a hybrid environment (located in either the Navy Yard or Courthouse area) and Olivia works in-person (Downtown near the White House), both full-time. During the weekdays, both are available before and after traditional working hours with some flexibility to take on appointments during the workday on a case-by-case basis. Weekends are always available. Olivia and Nick do not board animals in their home because of the negative reaction their cats have had to it in the past. When they care for pets in their clients home they always seek to follow any instructions exactly as they are given. Most importantly, one of their consistent top priorities is to respect the integrity of their client’s home. Unless instructed, they do not go into areas of the home not previously discussed nor do they invite guests.
