Passion for animals

Pet care experience

I was inspired to work with Rover because I was a Vet Tech, I want to provide care to every animal; I believe every animal should be treated as royalty and cared for in a spectacularly loving way. My husband and I have a 6 year old little boy and a 1 year old. While I’m not studying, I enjoy riding my horse, Joey. I also have one dog -- Shelby is a male American Stafford/Lab mix. Add to that three cats and you know we are one animal-loving family! My hobbies include swimming with my dogs, playing with them and going for walks. I definitely am happiest is when I'm around animals, they bring so much joy to me! I won the Kankakee County 4-H Senior Dog Grand Champion in obedience and I won second place in the state competition with my late Chocolate Lab. In addition to this, I also have agility training. My passion for working with animals and caring for them is very strong and I honestly cannot see myself doing anything else for the rest of my life. My experience with dogs ranges from small Teacup Yorkshire Terriers to large breed dogs such as Great Danes and English Mastiffs. I do not have any breed preference, but I do require to be informed in advance if there is any aggressive behavior the dog may have. I have worked in animal shelters, small clinics and kennels and have volunteered in at a shelter, Animal Welfare League, to help walk dogs and clean their cages. Being a vet tech I have worked with over 100 different breeds and I have found them all lovable and a blast to work with! My husband helps me care for the animals when he isn't working. My husband’s experience with dogs is just as deep as mine and he cares for them in the same way I do. We have plenty of room to run around and play all day long! I love our neighborhood because it is peaceful and very quiet. We go to dog parks and let our dog Shelby make new friends! Dog owners find that not only do I care for their dog, but I care deeply about what the dog parents say about their pet. I treat every dog like he/she is my own and I provide them lots of pampering and the best care a pup can hope for! I’m also comfortable helping any pup with a medical issue and I am comfortable administering medication, I am Fear Free certified.

Olivia was amazing to our senior dog Cayman. We were gone for 10 days and received daily updates with pictures and in each one Cayman looked right at home and very content. Olivia has a great fenced in yard and she assured me someone would always be home to keep our dog company. Cayman slept for 2 full straight days when she came home, clearly exhausted from all of the fun she had with Olivia's dogs, Captain and Shelby. I will definitely ask for Olivia's help in the future!

Olivia is the sweetest animal lover! She took my old diabetic Yorkie in and treated her as her own. Even gave her an oatmeal bath! I almost didn't want to leave a great review because we want her all to ourselves!! ;) THANKS OLIVIA!!

Olivia is the most wonderful, Kindest, most caring woman in this world. She LOVES animals.Thats is an understatement. She has such an amazing passion for caring and healing animals it is unbelievable. She spends so much time caring for animals, making sure they are fed, taken out for walks, bursted, bathed, played with. Its like they never leave home! The animals love her as well. I have seen the most scared dogs come run to her and roll over for belly rubs and the owners says WOW! I've never seen my dog do this before. She is a one of a kind animal lover.

Information Olivia N. would like to know about your pet

I don’t have any breed preferences, but I do like to know if you dog has any behavioral issues or aggressive tendencies. I also like to know what your dog’s daily routine is and how much exercise they need. If you have a dog that needs special medical attention, I am comfortable administering medications as well.

A typical day

When your pup stays with me you can be assured we will have playtime, swim time (weather permitting), and nature walks. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to be at home with your pup so that I can create a schedule that closely resembles their home routine. Your pup will also love our ½ acre lot -- it’s huge! It’s also completely fenced and there is an additional fenced area just for dogs to play among themselves!
