In 2015, I started the nonprofit Compassionate Technologies, which required some travel on my part. I longed for the companionship of a pet during my travels and started working with Trusted Housesitters to exchange pet-sitting for housing. I learned from each home I stayed in and each animal I took care of, which gave me great insight into my own work. I now only work part-time with this organization and am able to continue on with my main passion, pet care! Overall I am sensitive, energetic and practical and tend to be very in tune with what your pets are feeling and experiencing. I truly feel connected to animals and it gives me great joy to understand how to best serve each one. I have worked as a pet sitter for the last several years and have a great deal of experience caring for all types of breeds and temperaments, older dogs and cats who need medication, as well as younger, more energetic pets. I take walks very seriously and am sure to give dogs plenty of space to smell and explore since that is often the highlight of their day! I never text or try to rush the walk based on my own schedule, as that would take away from your dog’s experience. I like to get down on the floor, giving the dog time and space to get to know me without me forcing it on them. If I give treats, I stand up while giving plenty of attention and praise for good behavior. When communicating with my clients, I work to understand your needs and expectations and then respond accordingly. I know some people like to receive photos once a day, while others prefer not to be disturbed, unless it is an emergency. My schedule in generally pretty open, as I usually work no more than four hours a day and can work from anywhere. Otherwise, I am a homebody and love to enjoy the peace and quiet with a pet to cuddle with. When I’m not relaxing, I am most definitely outdoors jogging or exploring nature, usually with a dog by my side!
