Hello! My name is Olivia and I am a pre-veterinary student! I have grown up with every shape and size of animal, so I am a seasoned professional! I am able to assist with walks, playtime and enrichment, feeding, grooming, and cuddles! I am more than comfortable to enforce house rules (if your furry friend isn’t allowed on the couch, is working on manners, etc), and am very receptive to any special needs your pets may have! On walks, I can handle headstrong individuals, as I currently can wrangle my high energy, 150 pound Great Dane! I know how to administer medication, trim nails, and can even attempt a bath if it is needed! I have worked with newly rescued animals, and I am very patient and respectful of boundaries. Maintaining a safe play space, clean water, and mental stimulation are vital when it comes to any animal! I will never bring any snacks for myself which could be toxic to your pet, nor will I have my attention divided between a device and your animal- split attention is where many accidents occur!

Structure is important in animal care, and I am meticulous when it comes to following your predetermined schedule. I do not let animals out of my sight to prevent any ingestion of foreign objects, and will actively communicate any safety concerns I see in your home. I will perform a physical scan for ticks and wounds, as well as assess coat condition for the owner so they are able to address concerns before they get out of hand.

A typical day
I love training sessions with the dogs I watch! Beyond this, long walks for physical activity and short “sniffing walks” are a great way to keep any pup happy and tuckered out. I’m always down for a game of tug, cuddles, and fetch! I always break up big activities with quiet time, as to not overstimulate or stress a dog. These activities can be structures around feeding schedules, and can easily be swapped around to better fit a dog’s personality and needs.

Availability
I currently work part-time collecting samples for racehorse drug tests on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. My shift demands vary, so please be specific with times on those days so I can best meet your needs and relay my schedule! I am training a service dog, so I occasionally have training classes with him. He would not be present for any drop in visits or walks.
