Pet care experience
I have always been a pet lover. Throughout my life I have raised and been around many types of animals, including dogs, cats, small rodents, rabbits, pigs and birds. I also rode horses and volunteered at a horse stable. I have taken care of friends' & family's pets on many occasions before starting with Rover. I have a degree in International Business from University of Maryland and worked as a contractor for the federal government in Washington, D.C. and Maryland until deciding on a career switch and moving to NYC. While researching my options for a veterinary program I worked for a small family-run pet store. Due to the pandemic, uncertainty of the future and possibly having to relocate, my plans for veterinary school have been put on hold for now and I'm currently providing pet care and volunteering full-time. I live in rather large apartment on East 83rd street with my husband. We currently don't have any pets of our own and would love to host your pup or kitty or for me to take them on a nice long walk. I am available 24/7 except for only a few days a month, which I know about well ahead of time, and would love to spend my free time by taking care of your pet(s). I believe that pets are family members and just like kids they need consistency in their lives which is why I will always follow all instructions from the pet owner and provide them with a safe and loving environment. I will make sure that they are well-exercised, well-fed, healthy and happy! Additional info: I am fluent in both English and Russian. Majority of the time I'm home and able to provide excellent care to pets staying with me at my apartment or providing walks and drop-ins. However due to some recent health issues in my family my schedule might be slightly more restricted than usual, but please feel free to contact me regardless and we'll be able to make an assessment whether I can meet your pet care needs and times. When a pet is staying with me, basically all my attention is on them unless I'm doing household tasks or running errands (if I can bring the pet along, I will). We do a lot of play time, walks, and bonding. Depending on my other appointments such as drop-ins or walks for other clients, I might have to leave the pet for up to two hours, but that's something that I discuss with clients before booking to assess the needs of their fur baby.
Reviews
Olga was very communicative; she took great care of my cat and gave her lots of love and attention. She kept me updated on everything going on with attention to detail.
As usual, Olga went above and beyond to make sure Max was content and well taken care of. I recently had to put my other cat down, and Max has been having a hard time adjusting to being solo. Olga did all she could and more to make sure he was at ease and feeling the love. Thank you so much Olga!
Olga did an incredible job taking care of our elderly cat! She was communicative, detail oriented and clear with all aspects of our cat’s wellbeing. I would love to work w Olga again. Thank you so much for making our weekend away worry free!
Olga was so wonderful with our Charlie! Before our first walk, she came for a meet and greet. Charlie instantly loved her, and we felt very comfortable trusting her with our baby. On the day of the walk there were pretty bad rain storms. Olga was communicative and strategic about the best time to walk Charlie given the rain, kept up updated, sent many photos and a great recap, and Charlie had a great time! We will definitely use her again!

Information Olga K. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know if they are scared or are made anxious by anything, such as loud noises on the street, other animals, certain types of toys, how defensive they are when they hear someone in the hallway.
A typical day
I live a block and a half away from Carl Schurz park in UES which has an enclosed area for small dogs, as well as big dogs. I would love to take your pup for a walk around the park, play some fetch or tug of war and let them have some supervised play with their new friends in the doggy enclosure. I can also take your dog to Central Park for a longer walk or a run. I have plenty of toys and I am willing to learn what your best friend likes and become one of his/hers favorite walkers or sitters as well.
