For over a decade, I have helped friends and family care for their pets if they needed an extra hand with grooming, post op care, pet sitting, administering medications, dog training, etc. Getting one on one time with each pet is often the highlight of my day. Each of these precious animals hold a special place in my heart for a lifetime. I have experience with puppies, elderly dogs, small all the way through large breeds. I am also experienced with cats and kittens. I have spent some time volunteering at a local animal shelter where I cared for dogs, cats and rabbits. I provided shelter animals with love and attention along with some basic training. I am also comfortable around misunderstood dogs. Basic training is one of my favorite activities to do with dogs. I enjoy making it a fun learning experience for them. I 100% believe in positive reinforcement and I see “mistakes” as opportunities to learn. I love getting to know each pet as an individual and maintaining a long term relationship with them.

Ofelia has been so amazing to work with. She fit us into her busy schedule when I hurt my back and couldn’t walk my 10 month old puppy. All of our rambunctiousness dogs respect her and are obedient with her. I’m so thankful that I found her.

I believe mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise for pets, for this reason I will often give them activities to do while they’re in my care like work on basic training, bring toys, treats and give them lots of verbal praise for positive behavior. Some pets are excited to be with just about anyone while others take a little more time to warm up to a new person so I believe it’s important to pay attention to their cues to not stress them out or cause them to feel nervous around me. Each pet is different so I will always do my best to get to know your pet as an individual and be sure their needs are met with me.

I would like to know if your pet may have any behaviors to be mindful of such as food aggression, leash reactivity, reactive towards other animals or strangers, incontinence issues, trouble walking on leash, uncomfortable having their paws or other areas of their body touched, etc. I would also like to know about any medical concerns that require regular treatment or medication. Finally, I would prefer to know about any possible allergies or food sensitivities. None of these are deal breakers. Knowing ahead of time what to expect would help me greatly with providing the best care for your pet.
A typical day
I love to take dogs on walks around the neighborhood or local parks. I like to work on some training if time permits. I love to bring dog toys and treats to keep them engaged and entertained while out and about. My family and I love to stay active and bring our dogs along for adventures. With cats I will bring treats and some toys. Please let me know if your pet has any dietary limitations beforehand. There’s never a dull moment when I spend time with cats or dogs.

I have spent the majority of my adult life as a stay at home mom and now that my children are older I can give my undivided attention to caring for your pets. I’m willing to work with you on a routine that is beneficial to us both. I am a local in the South Bay Area and I spend a lot of time in Lomita, Torrance, Redondo Beach, San Pedro, Carson, Rolling Hills, Palos Verdes Estates and more.
