I was born and raised around many different types of dogs, from Standard Poodles to German Shephards. One of my family friends is a prominent dog trainer and I've learned much from him about the way dogs think. When it comes to dogwalking, there are right and wrong ways. Most people I know unfamiliar with proper technique just hold the leash limply with one hand and let the dog lead them. In reality, the dog is being dominant by leading you because you have allowed it to be. This dominant behavior can create problems down the line if left unchecked.
