Crazy responsible cat lady
Pet care experience
Wherever you see "puppy" or "dog" on my Rover profile, please substitute "cat"! I mean I love both, but CATS are my thing. Are you a little crazy about your kitties, too? I've been in your shoes before, nervous about finding someone who can provide the same loving care you do every day. I'm here to alleviate those worries and earn your trust. You can be sure I'll be red dot laser-focused on your cat's safety and well-being while you're away. In 2008, after a lifetime of armchair advocacy for animal welfare, I decided to "walk the walk" and officially became a volunteer, foster caregiver and advocate for shelter and community cats. I've adopted out scores of cats and kittens and, along the way, gained some knowledge about managing cat health and behavior at all stages of life. I'm more than happy to share what I've learned about nutrition, litter box strategies, simple home remedies for minor ailments, etc. with anyone who'd like to know how to better serve their feline master (while hopefully keeping their sanity!). Decades of practical experience as a reliable employee, pet caregiver and homeowner/landlord have prepared me for just about any circumstance. You'll never have to worry when your itinerary is disrupted or the unforeseen happens; just let me know and rest assured your kitty will be safe and well cared for until you return. New Rover clients, use code NIKOO51290 for $20 off your first booking. Thank you for taking the time to read my crazy long profile and consider my services. SCHEDULE: My cat sitting schedule revolves around my main job of caring for 6 to 20+ companion and foster cats. Obviously (and usually!) stuff happens with that many animals, so I ask for some flexibility around client requested times for drop-in visits. DROP-IN VISITS for your indoor-only cats include feeding, watering, scooping litter boxes, one-on-one time, basic grooming if allowed, making your house look occupied, watering houseplants, overseeing domestic robots, taking trash/recycling out and retrieving mail or packages. I have experience giving oral, topical, and subQ medications. If I can spare the time, my visits can go longer than 30 minutes, to ensure your cats have time to cuddle, play or interact if they wish. Please note: My mornings are pretty hectic taking care of all my cats, fosters and boarders. Unless your cat must adhere to a strict time-sensitive medication regimen, your actual visit time will likely differ from the schedule you booked, depending on what's on my plate for that day. Thanks for your flexibility and understanding. BOARDING at my low-occupancy cat hotel offers your kitty a clean, double-decker cage with a cozy bed or hammock, scratcher and twice daily meals. Kitties who mingle well with other guests are free to wander the cozy space, which features multi-level shelves, ramps, cat trees, beds, windows with backyard garden views and, of course, cat videos playing all day long. I welcome you to visit before deciding to book with me, or you may check out a quick video tour at https://youtu.be/tv4pkZgHM-c. Providing your cat's regular food is recommended. The house menu often includes Fancy Feast, Sheba, American Journey Turkey/Salmon/Chicken pate, Darwin's Raw Chicken, and a grain-free kibble (usually American Journey, Taste of the Wild or Blue Wilderness). I encourage you to bring along anything that'll help your cat feel more at home, e.g., bedding, clothing, toys. Let me know what kind of litter they normally use and any peculiar eating or drinking behaviors. Also very important: any physical disabilities or impairments, including just being clumsy. I need to know if there are any potential safety issues ahead of time. Medical boarding is available on a case-by-case basis and if the schedule allows. PLEASE CHECK BEFORE BOARDING WITH ME. Cats must be: • In good health and not contagious with any disease or illness • Neutered/spayed • FeLV negative; FIV+ permitted with advance notice • Parasite & fungus-free • Current on vaccinations (especially FVRCP)
Reviews
I appreciate knowing my kitties are well taken care of when I’m away. Niko is so attentive and I know the cats enjoy her company. Best cat sitter ever!
Niko as always was fabulous! She is so invested with my cat Nikki and takes good care of her!
Our kitties have stayed with Niko several times, most recently for a month - and they had a blast! Usually very shy and withdrawn, Niko’s expert care brings out the best in them and you can tell from the photos that they are content and relaxed when staying with her. No doubt our go-to whenever we’re out of town for a longer trip. We’re lucky to have Niko in our lives!
This is our second time going through Niko and we are once again so impressed by the care she puts into watching our pets! We will continue to re book Niko any time we go out of town! She is our go-to!!!
