Dog Nanny with four daily clients who trust me with every detail of their pets' care from feeding and grooming to car seat training and threshold training. I have six dogs of my own at home, including a miniature schanuzer who comes with me to my clients' homes as a doggy ambassador to provide enrichment that is safe and stable.

I keep track of specific needs using a notepad on my phone, so let me know about anything your pet needs to feel as safe as possible with me, a stranger. I also keep a 15 foot long lead and basket muzzles in my car in case I need them during a walk. I have all of my own grooming tools and, if asked beforehand, can bring them along for nail trims or quick shavedowns. Please note that I am not formally trained so I can't do anything fancy, but I do maintain my own dogs at home and shave out paw pads, do sanitary trims and the occasional lion cut on our older cat. I will service outside my service area, but will adjust the price to reflect the extra gas, so keep that in mind.

I like to know the breed ahead of time, not that it in any way affects my ability to care for them. Age is also an important factor as puppies need a lot more attention and can be harder to work with. I like to know the schedule, if any, that each pet follows so I can make sure not to deviate too much. It can be stressful for a pet to adopt a stranger into their lives, so if I can make it easier in any way, I want to.
A typical day
I like to ask the owner what kind of activities the pet does with them as a jumping off point. If your dog isn't used to a snuffle mat, odds are they won't try it for a stranger, yknw? From there I ask about slight changes I can make if applicable, such as bringing my long line to let a dog really get out there and explore safely, or playing scent games in the house with their favorite treat.
