I currently attend college at the University of Texas at Austin and am looking for a fun way to gain more experience caring for furry friends. I am considering veterinary medicine as a career option for me, so throughout my education I have learned a lot. In my high school days I used to spend my time volunteering and fostering for Mutts and Meows and Noah's Ark Bayou Sanctuary Animal Rescue, which are both partnered with Petsmart. In college I shadowed a veterinary professional, volunteered at the ASPCA in Gainesville, Florida, and volunteered at Operation Catnip (a high volume spay/neuter clinic for cats). I prioritize caring for dogs, especially when they are not my own! I understand that long time dog sitting can be a stressful change for some dogs so I take it upon myself to make sure I am doing everything possible to make the dog's stay a comfortable one! I love going on walks and runs and am willing to go on many walks in one day. I have a medium sized backyard so it will be easy for me to take them on frequent potty breaks. I have a friendly 25lb Pekingese/Chihuahua mix of my own who loves to sleep and play. Raising a pup of my own and fostering many shelter puppies and adult dogs has showed me that every dog is different and requires unique care. I can administer oral meds and can give baths. I also know how to handle dogs that are scared or upset. Responsibility is important to me so I will be easy to get into touch with!
