A Cat Lady Who Can Handle Big Dogs
Pet care experience
I'm a cat mom and dog lover who grew up with some very excitable standard poodles, so I'm used to big, energetic dogs! I grew up feeding, playing with, and walking them; I'm also a *very* tall girl and have the upper body strength for it! I've watched older dogs and have no trouble with remembering medications and dealing with subcutaneous injections, if needed. In addition, I am more than happy to take care of fish, reptiles, or other pets and to look after plants. And of course, I love kitties and am always happy to watch your cats as well! My cat is named Maki, and she is a 13-year old Norwegian Forest Cat mix. Since I need to stop by my house to check on her when I'm housesitting, I may on occasion decline requests so that I'm not away from her for too long, or if a request is in a location that will make it hard for me to stop by and check on her. I also cannot board other animals in my house.

I unfortunately cannot board animals in my own apartment. I am very conscious and observant when it comes to safety practices (i.e. keeping doors and windows locked), and I am usually up for a meet-and-greet so that I can get familiar with the animals and the place, and they can get familiar with me! If I am house-sitting, I consider myself to be a very clean and tidy person and do my best to leave the house in as good as possible shape when I depart. A note that because I have my own cats, I am heavily cutting back on house-sitting, but I can still do so per special request in some cases.

I would want to know allergies and how the dog interacts with other people and dogs (i.e. does your dog bark at other dogs etc). I am comfortable with all breeds, and I am not allergic to animals.
A typical day
I love taking dogs on hikes or to local parks or dog parks, if they enjoy that! I am happy to play off leash if that is something the dog is allowed to do. I will play frisbee, tug-of-war, or whatever games they like to play. As for cats, my girls both love to play with the laser and with the cat dancer, and so if your cat wants to play, I will be more than happy to oblige!

Availability
I presently have a full-time job with the National Park Service; I live in Vallejo and commute to my office near Sausalito, but I telework some days. I telework on Mondays and Fridays and am most available on those days as well as the weekend, although I do sometimes limit my availability on the weekends. On other days, I can check on animals or give walks before or after work, but I cannot come mid-day. A note that I have very heavily limited house-sitting and no only do so by special request, since I have my own cats to take care of.
