Pet care experience

I’m Nicole and I’m a hardworking, reliable dog lover offering care to dogs, cats and more. I put everything I have into whatever I am working on. Whether it be work, planning my wedding, or dog sitting, I give it my all. I have been an animal lover since I was little. There is nothing better than having someone love you so unconditionally. Even after an awful day, you can come home and your dog(s) will be there waiting, ready to put a smile on your face. They can even sense your pain and will lick away tears if necessary. Dogs just make my heart happy. I am especially accustomed to caring for special needs pups. Growing up I had the most amazing golden retriever named Snickers. She was a very calm and sweet dog. Fast forward a few years and my family adopted another golden named Kayla and a Dachshund named Mickey - both are seniors now. Kayla has begun to lose feeling in her back end, so she has to wear diapers on a regular basis and requires a lot of additional care. Mickey went blind about three years ago and also requires extra attention and care. They both live at my mom's house, but I see and care for them regularly. At my house I have a one-year old lab named Harvey, a five-year old husky named Cammy, and a cat named Wasabi. Managing three animals (two of them being large, hyper dogs) can be a lot for some people, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Harvey was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia earlier in the year, so we have to be mindful of him not jumping too much. He also receives a supplement every morning, so I’m happy to care for dogs that need a little extra attention. As for pet experience outside caring for my own animals, I volunteered for a few years in high school and college at the Humane Society, as well as the cat adoptions that are held at Petsmart. Working with homeless pets can be heartbreaking, but it just entices you to give them as much extra love as possible while trying to find them their perfect home. I offer pet care to more than just dogs. I have a cat of my own and offer cat care. I think cats are super sweet, but have a fun sassy personality at times as well. Over the years I have done numerous cat sitting jobs for neighbors. I also have a saltwater fish tank and am willing to feed fish as well if feeding instructions were provided. I am a huge worrier when it comes to others watching my own pets, so am very big on keeping routines and regular communication. To keep my human client happy I will touch base throughout the day whether it be a quick message letting you know how your baby is doing, or a few photos of us having some fun. If you want to know the last time your pupper ate, was walked, went to the bathroom, etc. I am happy to provide that information as well. I can’t wait to meet you and your dog!

Nicole is a wonderful and reliable pet sitter! Our dog felt very comfortable with her while we were gone! She also responds very quickly to you, and sends photos and updates! We will definitely use her again for future visits :)

I've never known anyone that cares about dogs as much as Nicole! She has experience taking care of small, medium, and large dogs, as well as special needs dogs. She truly loves hanging out with your furry friends and will love them like one of her own.

Nicole is a very attentive and caring pet owner who loves all furry friends. With two dogs and a cat of her own, Nicole is extremely reliable and gives all animals the love that they deserve. I would highly recommend Nicole to any dog mom or dad looking for a pet sitter.

Nicole treats her pets better than she treats humans. She has a husky, black lab, and a cat. They all take medicine daily and she never misses a beat. The love and affection she gives to her fur babies resonates through how well they behave and interact with others. I've never seen more cheerful and playful animals .

Information Nicole W. would like to know about your pet

It is best to hold meet and greets in the client’s home. This way I can be shown where everything is: leashes, treats, toys, any medication, etc. I can also find out if the dog isn't allowed some places of the house, on the couch, or any other rules the owner might not think of outside of the house. I do not have any breed preferences. I will like to know details about any of your pet’s health issues and medication. Also, I’d like to know if your pup is prone to trying to run out door or run off, as well as their daily routine (sleep, feeding, walks, how they like to play), any odd behaviors, aggressive tendencies (food, other animals, people).

A typical day

With my two dogs I typically like to start every morning off with a long walk and finish by playing at a local park. Depending on your pup’s activity level and your comfort level, our days will consist of long walks (perhaps on a trail if any are nearby), park visits, pool or dog beach, games of fetch, belly rubs, and endless cuddles. My every day schedule is extremely flexible. I enjoy taking my dogs to Flatwoods Wilderness Park, which is a fairly shaded seven-mile trail. Another option is always Land O'Lakes Dog Park, it is fenced in and has separation for little dogs from the larger dogs. There are tunnels to run through, doggy water fountains, and also a small doggy pool to jump in, in case they get hot. If neither sounds good, I am more than happy to walk / run them around the neighborhood. Bonus if their neighborhood has it's own dog park. I enjoy going to the Flatwoods Wilderness Park about twice a week, it is a great trail and is pet friendly. I enjoy going on long walks and runs every morning and evening and always go with dogs. I also enjoy going to the dog park about 4-5 days a week. Playing fetch outside throughout the day is also part of my routine.
