Dogs, Cats, Exotics and Much More!

Pet care experience

Talented and professional animal care provider, ready to treat your pets as my own. I have nearly 15 years in both personal and professional animal care areas, with varying degrees of experience with typical domestic animals (cats, dogs, small mammals, reptiles) and exotics (seals, sea lions, native birds, etc..). As dog-mum to a special needs amputee, compassionate and patient care of other special needs or senior animals is an area of specialty. I can administer medications and am capable of continuing progression of training goals for your animals. I have designed enrichment devices and look for unique ways to stimulate the minds and bodies of animals. After all, a tired dog is a happy dog! I am at ease with any breed and will make no exclusions for any animal. As someone that has been exposed to situations many other care providers have not, I am calm and level-leaded in event of any emergency. I understand the need to trust someone completely before allowing them temporary guardianship over a furry (or scaled!) member of your family. For this reason, I feel it necessary to conduct a thorough meet-n-greet before any work begins. For you and your pet, it allows an important chance to get to know me, as well as giving me an opportunity to ensure that everyone will be comfortable and on the same page. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!

My husband and I were very lucky to come across Nicole when we did. She came very highly recommend from a mutual friend, when another dog sitting option fell through. I am always nervous to leave our girl behind because she requires certain medicine everyday at the same time. Nicole assured me she was able to administer the medicine. As well as properly exercise her. (She is a Siberian Husky and requires two 30 minute walks a day) Nicole exceeded our expectations with photos, updates, and puppy snuggles! I very highly recommend this dog lover to watch your best friends as well!

NIcole is not just a dog lover but an overall animal lover. From the dogs she has adopted herself to the animals she cared for at the Oceans program as part of the Milwaukee County Zoo she has a natural affinity for all animals. As a dog owner herself she understands the anxiousness both dogs and owners can have when away from their families and does all she can to put both the dogs and their humans at ease. Her tenure in the service industry as a restaurant manager has polished her customer service skills making Nicole an excellent choice to care for your pups!

My yorkie, Oscar, is more than a dog, he is my family. It is always a hard decision to vacation without him. Nicole has since taken away my worries of leaving him behind. She took the time to meet with Oscar to learn his needs and habits before watching him. During my vacation I received daily updates with pictures of Oscar. I came home to my home just as I left it, and to a happy dog. Nicole’s professionalism, punctuality, bubbly personality, and knowledge on animal behaviors shone through in our first meeting. I would recommend her for all of your pet watching needs!

Information Nicole R. would like to know about your pet

Is your dog reactive in any situation (on leash, when seeing other dogs/animals, with strangers, with food/toys, etc..)? Does your dog require potty breaks more frequently than every 4 hours? Are they on a specific food regimen? Can they accept treats? Are they allowed on furniture/carpeted areas? Is your dog current on vaccines?

A typical day

I think it is very important for a dog's routine to change as little as possible when having a guest caregiver. During our meet-n-greet, we can discuss favorite walking routes, dog park protocols and other exercise options. We can engage in continuing training sessions. I can bring a number of interesting and unique enrichment toys as well!
