Dog-loving Medical Resident
Pet care experience
Hi all! I'm a pediatric resident from San Francisco that misses her family's dog like crazy. We had a loving, playful terrier/cocker-spaniel mix, Maggie, that unfortunately was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2008. We were heartbroken to let her go, but have recently started to think about getting our own dog. Given my schedule and future cross-country moves, it's not responsible for me to adopt my own furry friend, but thought I could get my canine fix by helping you out! I'm open to board your pet at my house or just go for walks. I love to explore new places, so please let me know your dog's favorite spots to sniff around! **Unfortunately, at this time I can only provide sitting for two nights maximum
Reviews
Nicole watched our girls last-minute, and she was amazing. She sent pictures and updates, and our dogs were very happy with her care. Her flexibility in dealing with a complicated key situation was greatly appreciated!
Nicole took perfect care of our pup when we had to go out of town. We knew when we picked her up that she was well cared for!
Angel had good stay, we were in continuous touch and got updates instantly. Nichole took good care of her.
If I could give Nicole 0 stars I would. My experience was every dog owner's nightmare. I left the country thinking my dog (Mario) would be in good hands, but as a result of Nicole's negligence my dog nearly died. My communications with her seemed fine at first, but then I received multiple confusing messages as to what was going on with my dog. It wasn't until I video chatted with Nicole that I saw my dog's eyes rolling in back of his head, and unable to stand or eat. He was completely unresponsive and had lost 5lbs. (I have the paperwork to back this) After x-rays, and surgery totaling to more than $6,500 we discovered Mario's small intestines contained nearly 6 inches of cloth straps & 2 inch long plastic buckle from outside of his crate. The surgeon also said he removed a nail. There is absolutely no way my dog could have chewed through all of this on the exterior of the crate while being watched. I can only assume Nicole left him unattended during his stay. Mario is a 9 month old puppy, and needs constant care and attention. Nicole refused to cover the $250 deductible for Mario's surgery, while I incurred costs totaling of $650 to make calls over seas and to change my flight so I could come home ASAP. I figured it was the least she could do considering my dog almost died under her care. In addition to all of these costs, I have yet to be refunded for this experience. More importantly, I am traumatized from this experience, and my poor dog will never be the same. In the end, Nicole showed no signs of remorse and she plans to continue to dog sit with Rover. BEWARE do not leave your dog in her care.
