A Pawfect Day With Nicole ❤︎

Pet care experience

Hello there! Welcome to my Rover profile! My name is Nicole and I’m delighted to say you have finally found the BEST pet caregiver in Maryland! So come spend A Pawfect Day With Nicole! I am a born and raised Maryland local who resides in Silver Spring with a profuse love for all creatures big and small. To know me is to know I’m tremendously passionate about animals, above all, man and woman’s best friend, our most loyal companions, dogs and cats. I have been professionally caring for pets for over 10 years now, and have acquired superb experience throughout the years. Together with pet sitting, I have a calling as a Rehabilitation Technician in a veterinary hospital which specializes in orthopedics, sports medicine, rehabilitation, regenerative medicine, and neurology. It is my joy and responsibility to properly care for my furry clients during their visit (giving lots of TLC and treats!) whom many of which are post-operative orthopedic and neurologic patients. Additionally, I aid the rehabilitation therapists with their appointments, help the veterinarians with consultations or diagnostic procedures, and perform therapeutic exercises to my hairy, tail-wagging patients. Besides being a rehabilitation technician, I am also a Veterinary Technician Assistant and have the pleasure of working and providing assistance with a variety of complex procedures/treatments alongside my fellow veterinary technicians and veterinarians all while enjoying learning something new everyday. Before working in a specialty orthopedic hospital, I worked in a general practice animal hospital located in Laurel, MD for a few years as a Kennel Technician/Technician Assistant. At this hospital, apart from aiding the veterinary technicians, my priority as a kennel technician was to care for, feed/water, and administer any medications the dogs or cats needed while maintaining a clean, healthy environment for all those boarding in the hospital. Over the years, I have worked with many different canine/feline breeds and temperaments. All have such distinctive personalities I can not find myself choosing a favorite. I, myself, have two Yorkshire Terriers named Annabelle and Phoebe. They are my everything and require much of my attention. I always treat every dog and cat that comes into my care as if they are my own. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for my fur babies, therefore you can be confident that your companion(s) will receive the same kind of love, attentiveness, and protection. Caring for animals isn’t what I do, it’s who I am! Now, I know choosing someone to look after your fuzzy, family member is a difficult process and can be overwhelming at times, but I am confident that I am the person you are searching for. I am a very responsible, punctual, knowledgeable, and trustworthy person with multiple references and repeat clients who can assure you likewise. While working in animal hospitals, I have gained skillful knowledge in canine/feline behaviors, body language, basic nutrition, and changes in health or symptoms that may cause for concern and am prepared to take proper action. I believe what sets me apart from fellow pet sitters is the love and dedication I give each and every one of my furry clients and the knowledge I have earned through the years working alongside veterinarians in general and subspecialty hospitals. I make sure all my furry clients feel like part of the family and are treated as so. I can proudly (and truthfully!) say I love all the pets I have come to care for and they each hold a special place in my heart. Also to ease your worries, I constantly provide updates and frequently share photos of all our activities throughout the day. Therefore with my years of experience and knowledge you can rest assured that your beloved, four-legged, family member(s) are in capable hands and will receive only the highest quality of care. Now that you know a little bit more about me, I hope you feel most reassured when leaving your pet(s) in my caring hands. All in all, with me, your four-legged family members will be safe, loved, and receive top-notch care while unquestionably having the time of their lives. So, please do not hesitate to reach out and message me if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for considering me with the care of your furry companion and I look forward to meeting you soon. ❤︎ Best, Nicole ❤︎ ✰ IMPORTANT INFORMATION ✰ -It is a priority of mine that my current and future clients feel that my prices are reasonable as they are based on my experience, the area that I offer services within, and the needs as well as the age of your pet(s). Please reach out with any questions or concerns and I will be happy to answer. -I typically travel up to 5 miles away from my home for pet services. However, the distance that Rover calculates is often incorrect as it measures the distance in a straight line only. I am happy to travel further than 5 miles, but it depends. I also offer a pickup/drop off service for an additional fee. -PLEASE let me know if you live in an apartment building or townhouse with limited parking. Also, if in an apartment/townhouse, please be prepared to offer me a spare key and/or parking instructions/permit if needed. -CANCELLATION POLICY- For all services: A full refund is available if cancelled by 12:00pm one week before the service begins. 12:00pm is determined by the sitter's time zone. A 100% refund is available for any additional days. -PLEASE do leave a review after my services are completed. Reviews and tips are greatly appreciated! Thank you! 🐾

Nicole did an outstanding job checking in on our senior cat twice daily. Her updates were thorough, informative, and punctual. She is very easy to communicate with and extremely professional. She also sent lots of pictures and spent quality time with our pet. We would never hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her services

•WHY I LOVE PET SITTING I have always been an animal lover. Through the years, my family and I have had a golden retriever, rat terrier, and 3 domestic shorthair cats (grey tabby, tuxedo, and orange tabby). I currently have two Yorkshire Terriers. I have also had many other little critters I’ve loved and cared for along the way. I have never been able to pick a specific breed of canine or feline as a favorite because all dogs and cats have such unique personalities. So, through working in the veterinary field and pet sitting, what I love most is I have the opportunity to work and care for many different breeds and see all the different personalities shine through. ❤︎ •MEDICATIONS/SPECIAL CARE I am comfortable administering all types of medications. As a Kennel Technician at an animal hospital, in addition to carefully caring for my patients, it was my responsibility to log and administer multiple medications (oral or subcutaneously) to the correct dogs or cats boarding at the hospital, paying close attention to the dosage, schedule, and proper form of administration. Working at an animal hospital, I have become familiar with various, common medications given and how to properly administer while paying close attention to any side effects. I also have experience administering insulin to diabetic patients and the importance of when and how to give to the insulin. I’m experienced in symptoms to look out for in a diabetic patients as well as checking the patient's blood glucose levels. If your pet is tricky and dislikes taking certain medications, I am familiar with different ways to administer medications quickly and rewardingly. I also am experienced in caring for pets with neurological issues and/or those who require post-operative care. ❤︎

•IMPORTANT INFORMATION/CARE INSTRUCTIONS Please inform me if your pet in on any medications or has special care instructions. Veterinary hospital information is also requested, along with an emergency contact in case I can not reach you. If on medicine, be prepared to provide a detailed medication list with proper dosages and schedules. Please let me know if there are specific details regarding your pet such as certain behaviors/fears pertaining to other animals, loud noises, strangers, etc. Also, if your pet currently has any health conditions or concerns I need to be aware about. Behavior problems like separation anxiety or food aggression is also important to know ahead of time. ❤︎

A typical day

•A typical day with me: I am an active individual who will make sure your pet(s) gets the right amount of exercise and isn't sleeping around all day. Some fun things I like to do with animals I care for is to stimulate them both mentally and physically with games like hide and seek or find the treats. Long walks are also a must and I can’t forget playing with their favorite toys! And most importantly, their will be lots of cuddling time! This is vital because your best companion(s) will be missing you and your love, so to make them feel better, there is me. ❤︎
