Pet care experience
I love animals with a special fondness for dogs and have been the "go to" dog sitter for friends and family. I'm patient and affectionate and love being outside, especially hiking and long walks. I work independently so can be flexible in schedule and location. Until recently I had a King Charles Cavalier who was my best friend and went everywhere with me. He passed away and while I'm not ready to have another dog, I'd love the opportunity to help others provide more time and attention for their dogs. "Whole-Pet Healing: A Heart-to-Heart Guide to Connecting with and Caring for Your Animal Companion" by Dr. Dennis Thomas and "How to Be Your Dog's Best Friend" by the Monks of New Skete are books that have informed my approach to pet care.

We had Nicole stay with our golden retriever, Ellie. This was a repeat visit and we were again delighted by Nicole’s thoughtfulness and care for our dog while we were away.
Nicole did an amazing job dealing with our anxious, special needs dog. Can’t say enough about Nicole’s patience and care for our crazy dog.
Nicole did a great job. She communicated with us and we got pictures everyday. Dogs were very happy!
Nicole stayed with our dog, Ellie, and updated us with pictures and let us know how things were going which was much appreciated as this was the first time we’d left Ellie with a sitter. Between coming over to meet initially and the stay, Ellie developed a condition that required her to take medication twice a day while we were gone. Nicole administered her medication and Ellie was happy as could be once we got home. We look forward to having Nicole again in the future!

I take great care to be mindful and observant of the pet and their environment. I am consistent with safety protocol, such as making sure leashes are secured before opening the door, checking that fences are closed properly, and that there's nothing within reach that could be harmful to them if chewed or ingested. I maintain consistency of the pet's regular habits, expectations, and healthcare needs.

I don't have any breed preferences, I think they're all great. I would like to have an honest conversation in advance if there are any aggressive tendencies, extreme hyperactivity or medical conditions.
A typical day
It depends on the dog and caretaker's preferences. I used to take my dog to different neighborhoods and parks because he liked sniffing new ground. When I lived in Minneapolis some of our favorite spots included the Mississippi River Parkways, Loring Park, Minnehaha Park, Lake of the Isles but we were both pretty happy on any walk together. Now that I'm in Plymouth I take full advantage of all the great walking paths and parks.

Availability
I'm currently a full-time grad student in a remote learning program so my schedule is very flexible and I'll be there with the pets in my care the majority of the time.
