I grew up with dogs back in Minnesota. When I went to college, I immediately started volunteering for rescue dog organizations. Which I continued to do in every city I moved to after. For a long while work required me to be out of town frequently and prevented me from having any pets. Rescuing my first pup, Ichabod, happened within a week of starting a job that didn't require any travel. Vlad was rescued six months later and my husband hasn't let me enter a rescue shelter since!
