I have worked with animals professionally for 8 years, and worked as a volunteer for 3 years prior. I've worked as a Dog Daycare Attendant/Sleepover Caretaker, Groomer, Trainer, and at a Reacue for many years. Experienced with all breeds, sizes, temperaments, and age. I used to be a dog trainer and puppy socializer, but I prefer to relax with the dogs and make sure everyone is safe and happy. I only ask that you are 100% honest with me about your dog so I know how to safely handle them ahead of time. I will be 100% honest with you and how your dog does around me and my pack. Communication is key to success!

I have a fully fenced in yard with a 6 foot fence. I have friendly dogs that love to have buddies to play with. I will always be with your dog to supervise them and never leave my dogs alone with them, and would not leave your dog alone outside. I have multiple rooms in the home for feeding separately, and I also have various sized kennels as needed for kennel trained dogs. I prefer the dogs to sleep out of the kennel, but will respect any training you have given to your dog previously and would stick to the routine you give me for your dog as needed. I have AC and Heating in the house as well. I do have a cat who was raised with dogs, but if your dog is not a fan of cats he is happy in my dad's room or going outside. Just let me know if your dog has cat experience, I don't mind working with dogs who are unsure of cats.

I really would like all owners to be up-front about their dog, and tell me about any reactivity issues they may have, or if the dog has any allergies so I know not to give them my personal dog treats unless they are parent-approved. Reactivity will not be a complete deal breaker unless the dog is seemingly dangerous for me to handle. I have a lot of experience with all different kinds of dogs with different personalities and I would rather know what to look out for ahead of time so I can avoid a conflict with your dog and my dogs. If you are unsure about your dog in specific situations (such as how they are with smaller dogs/cats) please just be up front with me and honest about that, I am happy to test the waters and my animals all have rooms/places they can go to get out of the way if needed. I also need to know if your dog has bad separation anxiety (like excessive barking until you get back, or dogs who may be destructive/escape artists) This will help me prepare ahead of time in case I need to go through my garage to leave the home instead of risking opening the front door, or warning my neighbors ahead of time if I have a dog I am pet sitting who may be very loud. Again, the only deal breaker for me is if your dog is aggressive to people or dogs. I am willing to work with a dog who does not like my cat as I have done it many times in the past and I know how to keep my cat safe and out of the way.
A typical day
It depends on the dog's energy level. For higher energy dogs we will go out in the backyard for some play time, maybe get some toys out as long as nobody is a resource-guarder. My dogs LOVE to play and play very nicely with toys despite being vocal. If your dog is a resource-guarder we can get some backyard time without toys, and I like to take the dogs on individual walks/jogs throughout the day to get more energy out. I like to take dogs to the Bald-Peak trail as there are few off leash dogs, and the off leash dogs there are well behaved since it is not a fenced in off leash area. I have long-leads for dogs to run off extra steam so we can safely play ball without the risk of having a dog off-leash. For the dogs who just want to sleep in and snuggle, we can do that too. I have an older chihuahua mix who has that type of personality and often begs me to sleep in with him, so the more the merrier we can watch movies and stay inside with frequent potty breaks of course. In the event it is raining heavily or snowing, I have an outdoor area with a cover so that they do not have to go potty in the rain/snow if they do not want to.

Availability
I work part time at a local Dog Daycare (Inavale Farm) and they allow me to bring my pet sitting dogs with me while I work. I only work 3 days a week from 4-7pm so it is not for a long time. I am home besides that as I have my own dogs to take care of and I am a home-body.
