Updated May 2025: I am a science and math teacher at a private school, and we have just finished our 2024-2025 school year, so my schedule is extremely flexible right now! I can almost always plan according to your requests. I substitute teach here and there during the summertime, but I can always choose which days I do and don’t pick up, so I can accommodate a booking!

For drop-ins: I would specifically follow your care instructions and make sure everything and everyone is taken care of precisely as you’d like it, no matter how specific. - I will make sure to stick with your rules to help maintain consistency with their routine. - I can do pretty much anything they need to accommodate them. - If I have extra time I’ll usually hang around to give them extra attention! For walks: I follow the exact instructions that are provided, but this service is a little bit more flexible as the health and safety of the pets is my #1 concern. - I will follow their usual route, but may diverge if conflicts arise (aggressive dogs, construction, etc.) - It can be a fast walk to encourage energy release, or it can be a leisurely walk to stop and take in scents/surroundings, whichever they prefer. - If I see them panting heavily and/or attempting to lay down, I will find a shady spot to take a couple minute break. - I always bring a small bowl and water for them during the summertime, so we might make quick stops for a drink. - If they are truly struggling to walk, and/or are refusing to do so, I will attempt an alternative method of exercise, such as backyard (or indoor, if allowed) playtime.
Information Nicole G. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if there are any special needs your pet requires, and I'd be happy to accommodate them. I can administer medications, and follow close guidelines if they have a strict schedule. Feel free to give me any other info, the more the better so I can give them the best possible care!
A typical day
In general: Exploring the neighborhood on walks, playtime with their favorite toys, cuddles, brushing/petting etc. If you let me know what your pet enjoys, I’ll do everything to make them feel loved, safe, and happy! For drop-ins: - I begin by greeting your pets with energy and excitement (unless they prefer a calmer entrance) so that they know I am here to help. - Water is checked first, then feeding/medication time. - I’ll clean litter boxes and check the areas for any spills, messes, potty accidents, etc. and clean up as needed. - Energy release is important, so I make that a main focus. In my experience, most animals just want attention in general, so I give them my undivided attention/love, however they want it. - When parting I do final checks around the house, make sure the “to do list” is complete, and ensure doors are locked and lights are off (unless you’re wanting to keep a couple lights on, like I personally do).

Pet care experience
Animals have been a huge part of my life since I was a kid. Growing up in a home filled with pets, especially dogs and exotics (reptiles, birds, small mammals) gave me first hand experience in raising and training them. My childhood dog had multiple litters of puppies, and I took on the responsibility of creating a safe space for her, helping with their birth, and caring caring for them. I cherished every moment! In addition to dogs, some of the other pets I helped take care of over the years are: bearded dragons, several different species of snakes, hamsters, rats, parakeets, cockatiels, and ferrets. I have a particular love for cats right now, as I own 3 and have been fostering from the shelter for several years. Beyond my own pets, I have cared for many dogs and cats belonging to neighbors and friends, and I’ve even rescued strays, helping them find their owners or new homes. One particularly memorable rescue turned out to be half coyote, who I ended up adopting! Training him was a unique challenge, but with patience and understanding, he became an incredible companion. (You might spot him in my pictures; he’s the one with heterochromia.) I love spending time outdoors with dogs, whether it's a walk around the neighborhood or a hike on the trails. Watching their excitement and curiosity about the world is something I never tire of. I have always gravitated towards animals and get along very well with them. My background in Ecology has deepened my appreciation for nature and animals, and I always ensure pets are cared for with attentiveness and kindness. I’ve learned a lot about the science behind things like anatomy and behaviors, too! As for cats, I was never allowed to have them as pets growing up, since several family members were allergic. However, I have been raising and fostering kittens and adult cats from the local shelter for the last 5 years! I currently have 3 of my own, who I love with all my heart and who totally rule my apartment! :) I have done an incredible amount of research on them over the years to ensure they have the proper care, and I can meet their exact and unique needs. I first began fostering/adopting from the shelter in May 2020 - because during COVID shelters were completely overwhelmed. My focus has been on kittens separated from their mothers too early, who would otherwise be euthanized if they didn’t have someone to take them in and give them the “round the clock, every 2 hours” type of care that they need. During covid I was home alone with the kitties, so I spent a lot of my time watching them, learning about them, and understanding their different types of personalities. I am always surprised when people say that cats are “solitary creatures” when that is absolutely not the case! They can form social groups, and often very much enjoy companionship (though some do prefer to be independent), and they LOVE and even need playtime. Every single cat I’ve owned/fostered has learned to play fetch! :) My husband and I joke that our cats actually own our apartment - and we just rent from them, lol. They are like children to me and I try my best to give them the world. I will do the exact same for your babies!! Take a look through my photos to see some of the wonderful animals I’ve had the privilege of caring for over the years. If you have any questions, feel free to ask… I’d love to chat!

Reviews

This was my second time having Nicole watch my cat, Mylo, and once again she was absolutely wonderful. She spends so much time playing with him and keeping him happy, which makes it so much easier for me to be away out of town. I really appreciate the updates and photos she shares—they give me so much peace of mind and show just how comfortable and content he is with her. It makes me so happy to see how well Mylo gets along with her, and it’s clear she genuinely enjoys the time she spends caring for him. Knowing he’s in such kind and attentive hands is such a relief, and I would absolutely trust booking with her again. Nicole is truly a gem, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will love and care for their pets as if they were her own 💕.

My 2 dogs always do great with Nicole. She is attentive, very responsive, and so kind. Thanks again! 🐶🐶

Nicole was absolutely amazing! This was one of my first experiences using Rover and my first time leaving my kitten, Mylo, for a few days so I was a little nervous—but she made everything so easy and stress-free. She was super communicative and sent the sweetest updates, photos, and videos during each visit, which really helped me feel at ease while I was away. As a first-time cat mom, I also really appreciated how knowledgeable she was—she shared great advice and recommendations that were genuinely helpful. On top of how well she cared for Mylo, she was also so respectful and thoughtful in my home, which made me feel completely comfortable having her come by to check on him. I can’t thank her enough and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!

I highly recommend Nicole. She has tons of experience and is extremely kind and extremely reliable. When I first messaged her, she responded quickly and in a timely manner which I really appreciated. She was so friendly when we did our first meet and greet and very professional, she even carried a notebook for our first meet and greet And she has always been on time. She is also very flexible and we are willing to work around each other‘s schedule. I gave her very detailed instructions which she said she appreciated and followed everything correctly. She also wrote detailed notes after every visit which was so awesome And took photos as well. She is easy to get along with and personable. Again, I highly highly recommend Nicole. Thank you so much and I will be using Nicole for future dog walks and also for in-home visits. You are the best!!! my two fur babies enjoyed Nicole very much see you next time! 🫶🐶🐶
