Dog-loving former kennel employee!

Pet care experience

I worked for over a year at a vet clinic and boarding facility before I graduated from college. Meaning not only am I very comfortable with dogs that are not my own, but I also am extremely familiar with health and safety aspects of the job. Sometimes over the holidays we had 200+ dogs boarding in our facility - dogs of all sizes, personalities, and breeds. Not only that, but my mother has also been a dog foster home my entire life, and she has worked with rescue groups extensively. There is very little that I don't know how to handle. I am comfortable with dogs who have health or behavioral problems as long as you are up front about it! Training is not my specialty, but there is very little else that I cannot do. Dogs that need careful doses of medication? No problem! Does your pupper need a bath? I helped the groomer every day at my old job! Do you have a special needs dog - or maybe elderly or very young? Also no problem! I've literally helped pull newborn puppies out of a birthing canal, and I've also walked senior dogs that were completely blind and deaf (and walking a dog both blind and deaf is a true act of patience, by the way!) Is your dog aggressive by normal standards, and you're reluctant to hire a pet sitter for that reason? Guess what, that's also something I'm totally comfortable with. I really just live and breathe dogs. I have two babies of my own, and I promise to treat your beloved pet with the same patience, affection, and respect that I have for mine.

Nicole has been watching my dog since I've had him and she is great! She also does a fantastic job playing with him so that he spends all of his energy. That way he can sleep well at night. I have some specific rules with my dog, since he is still in training, and Nicole does a perfect job in following them. She also makes sure to feed and give him his medicines as scheduled. My dog is always happy when he sees Nicole and I am glad to have a pet sitter like her for my puppy!

Nicole has tended to my family's dogs for many years and is an incredibly responsible and diligent worker. She is always my first go to when traveling or even during a normal day at work. I can always count on her to be where I need her, right when I need her, which is important with a job as travel-heavy and spontaneous as my own. You're putting you dogs in the right hands with Nicole! Additionally, I think it's very valuable to work with someone who cares as much for my pets as she does her own. You can tell that she is a very loving and well-trained dog-owner herself, which is important in this business. You want someone who can handle your dogs in a correct manner without letting them get away with everything. :) I couldn't recommend anyone more.

Information Nicole G. would like to know about your pet

I'd like to know about any health or behavioral issues before sitting for a dog. I just need to know in advance if your animal needs to avoid other dogs, smaller animals, children, etc, so that I don't put the animal in a situation that would cause them stress. Please be honest with me! I won't judge you as an owner or make judgments about your dog. I have a rescued dog at home myself who is very dog aggressive, and so I plan my walks with her accordingly.

A typical day

Your dog will enjoy walks, lots of hugs and belly scratches, and, if you want, a photography session! I'm learning photography on the side, and I recently invested in a really top quality camera, and I'd love to treat your pup to a photo shoot. Of course, you're welcome to digital copies of all the pics!
