Dog care stone throw away from Elthorne Park

Pet care experience

Hiya! My name is Nicole and I loooove dogs. My family had dogs since I can remember and 4 years ago I got my first very own dog (Nala, Kooilerhondje) and this was the best decision ever ☺️. When I got Nala we went to training classes every week for a year and a half and will soon also start agility training again. Overall I gained a lot of experience in understanding dog behaviour and making sure dogs feel comfortable and get what they need, all with positive reinforcement. I love spending time with dogs if it’s taking them for walks, playing in the garden or cuddling on the couch. Since the pandemic started, I work from home permanently and also moved to a flat with a garden and close to a park so that I have the perfect conditions to accommodate furry friends ☺️ We can meet&greet to make sure the dogs get along well, however Nala is used to live with another dog in general as my previous flatmate had a golden retriever. Nala prefers dogs her size but can get along with any dog really.

Nicole was absolutely fantastic. Not only did Oliver have a great time but Nicole also sent us lots of photos to keep us updated on how he was doing and how he was settling in which was super nice to see. Thank you Nicole ♥️

I live in a nice flat with a dog safe garden. There is a fence which is escape proof and lots of green space to play, look for squirrels in the trees or relax in the sun. The flat itself is dog safe as well, my dog is allowed on the couch and in the bed, if your dog is not allowed on furniture I would make sure to keep him down.

Information Nicole G. would like to know about your pet

What does he/she love/hate? All about food (when, what, how much, any allergies, treats allowed) How many and how long of walks? Can he/she be off lead? Is he/she allowed on furniture? Which commands can be used? I’m originally from Germany with a Polish background so can offer three languages Anything else I should know?

A typical day

Typically we start the day with a walk in Elthorne Park followed by a breakfast at home. When it’s not raining, the door to the garden stays open all day so the dogs can go out anytime they want. Then it’s really up to what every dog favours. Nala for example likes to have a nap on the couch and maybe get some cuddles in between. Around lunch time it’s time for another short walk either around the block or to the park again as we live across the street and it’s really nice there! If the dog is playful we can either take toys to the park or play later at home and in the garden. We have a big variety to choose from: balls, frisbees, ropes, plushies, paperrolls (sometimes it’s the simple things ?) To give mental stimulation we do tricks or hide treats around the flat and garden however this is really up to the dog as we know being away from home might already feel a bit overwhelming! In the evening we usually go down to the canals or stroll through the park and have some dinner. Overall my work schedule is very flexible and I can make sure our guest gets all the attention and care needed ☺️
